Mi nombre es Vanessa Vargas, tengo 24 años y soy orgullosamente Colombiana. Primero que todo, déjenme contarles un poco sobre mí. Soy licenciada en el área auxiliar de enfermería, hace 6 años me gradué de esta carrera, al principio quería estudiar enfermería superior en la universidad, pero por razones económicas no pude hacerlo, así que mi familia ayudándome a no desistir con lo que me gustaba en ese momento me dijo que me inscribiera en un técnico y eso fue lo que hice. Conseguí hacer mis prácticas y demás pero, como suele pasar me di cuenta de que aunque me gusta ayudar a la gente y de hecho ese fue el motivo por el que decidí estudiar esto, no era lo que realmente me gustaba.

My name is Vanessa Vargas, I am 24 years old and proudly Colombian. First of all, let me tell you a little about myself. I am a graduate in the auxiliary nursing area, 6 years ago I graduated from this career, at first I wanted to study higher nursing at the university, but for economic reason's I could not do it, so my family helping me not to give up with I liked at that time told me to enroll in a technical and that's what I did. I managed to do my internship and so on but, like often happens realized that although I like helping people and in fact that was the reason why I decided to study this, it was not what I really liked.

Al no poder ejercer mi profesión ya que en el país de donde soy el área de la salud pide que te ‘regales’ es decir, que trabajes sin un pago para ver tu potencial y luego ver si te contratan o no, decidí empezar mi emprendimiento y abrí una página en Instagram donde empecé a vender maquillaje, era algo que realmente me llamaba y me sigue llamando la
atención, por lo general siempre me maquillaba o maquillaba a mis amigas y algunas familiares para fiestas o eventos pero lo tenía como segundo plano ya que es algo que a la mayoría de las mujeres les gusta, Me considero una persona bastante creativa, diría que bastante es por eso que hace 2 años tomé la decisión de iniciar un curso de maquillaje.

Cuando inicié realmente me di cuenta que la manera en que me maquillaba y solía maquillar a mis amigas era algo muy básico, cada día aprendía cosas nuevas y me sorprendía, me gustaba muchísimo asistir a clases o llevar modelos y practicar con su rostro, fue entonces donde me di cuenta que esto era realmente lo que me gustaba y de hecho me gusta mucho hacer. El hecho de que sea una herramienta para hacernos lucir más hermosas o simplemente para ocultar un poco algo de nuestro rostro que nos disguste un poco, es asombroso. Poco a poco iba mejorando en la aplicación de las sombras, o en la forma de preparar la piel y fue donde agarré la suficiente confianza para
empezar a trabajar como independiente.

When I started I really realized that the way I did my makeup and used to do makeup for my friends was something very basic, every day I learned new things and I was surprised, I really liked to attend classes or take models and practice with their face, it was then where I realized that this was really what I liked and in fact I really like. The fact that it's a tool to make us look more beautiful or just to hide a little bit of something on our face that we dislike, it's amazing. Little by little I was getting better at applying the shadows, or how to prep the skin and that's where I got enough confidence to start working as a freelancer.

Empecé con mis amigas, maquillándolas gratis y era tanto el apoyo que recibí y recibo por parte de ellas que empezaron a recomendarme con otras personas, me escribían por mis redes sociales o whatsapp para agendar una cita, no puedo negar que al principio me dio un poco de nervios pero luego entendí que si es algo que realmente me gusta mucho hacer y a las personas les gusta mi trabajo debo ir perdiendo ese miedo y entregar todo mi potencial. Ya no solo me llamaban o escribían para maquillajes sociales como para ir a
bodas, graduaciones, o asistir a algún evento. También me escribían para maquillajes más preparados como para Halloween, o festividades temáticas.

I started with my friends, doing their makeup for free and I received so much support from them that they began to recommend me to other people, they wrote me through my social networks or whatsapp to schedule an appointment, I can not deny that at first I was a little nervous but then I understood that if it is something that I really like to do and people like my work I must lose that fear and give my full potential. I was not only called or written for social makeovers like weddings, graduations, or to attend an event. They also wrote me for more prepared makeovers such as for Halloween, or themed festivities.

Ahora tengo muy en claro lo que realmente me gusta y disfruto hacer . Hay muchas persona que tienen este hermoso talento y realmente me encanta ver y compartir su trabajo. Actualmente por razones de que soy nueva en el país donde estoy (Me encuentro viviendo en La isla de margarita/ Venezuela) no he tenido la oportunidad de maquillar a muchas personas, realmente no conozco a nadie aquí. Solo a mi novio que fue la razón por la que deje mi país, pero bueno esa es otra historia muy linda que más adelante espero tener la oportunidad de contarles. Sin más que decir, gracias por llegar hasta este punto espero les haya gustado saber un poco sobre mí y esta historia❤️.

I am now very clear about what I really like and enjoy doing. There are many people who have this beautiful talent and I really love to see and share their work. Actually for reasons that I am new in the country where I am (I am living in the island of Margarita / Venezuela) I have not had the opportunity to make-up many people, I really do not know anyone here. Only my boyfriend who was the reason why I left my country, but well that is another beautiful story that I hope to have the opportunity to tell you later.
