Walk in the center of St. Petersburg - continuation (photo story in 23 pictures)

Today I would like to finish my story about a walk in the center of St. Petersburg, which was perfect last summer.

Last time I ended up on how I got to the Palace Bridge walking along the Admiralteyskaya embankment. This time I will start with the Palace Bridge itself. It is a very important and beautiful landmark of the city. However, the beauty of this bridge must be tasted at night, when the doors of the bridge are raised so that large cargo ships can pass between them. Now only small pleasure ships and boats sail under the bridge.

An excellent view of the Peter and Paul Fortress opened behind the bridge. And you can see how many pleasure ships sail along the Neva River.

And on the right on the embankment is the Winter Palace. The main residence of the Russian emperors in St. Petersburg.

The palace is located along the embankment. Its windows overlook the river.

There is a lot of traffic here nowadays.

I move along the embankment and approach the Peter and Paul Fortress.

Next to the Winter Palace is another beautiful building. All buildings on this embankment are palaces of noble people of those times. The Winter Canal runs between the Winter Palace and the next building.

Pleasure boats also emerge from under the bridge over the Winter Canal.

I cross the bridge and continue along the embankment.

Here I am taking another photo of the Peter and Paul Fortress. In this part of the city, the fortress is one of the main objects for me.

See how beautiful the facade of the next palace is. In those days, people built very beautifully.

A look back and another palace with a beautiful facade.

IMG_20200814_211108.jpg

I approached the point where the fortress is closest.

The embankment has many descents to the river. See how beautiful this granite embankment looks like.

These steps are already very many years old.

Many slopes have docks so that tourists can be taken on pleasure boats.

It was getting darker. On the other side of the river in the Peter and Paul Fortress, the illumination has already been turned on.

IMG_20200814_212109.jpg

The lamps had not yet warmed up and were shining green.

Lights were also lit on the Trinity Bridge ahead.

While I was moving along the embankment, the lighting of the Peter and Paul Fortress warmed up and acquired a warmer color.

IMG_20200814_212520.jpg

I approached the Troitsky bridge. This is where my walk ends.

IMG_20200814_212638.jpg

I take a couple more shots of the Peter and Paul Fortress in the light of the evening lighting, but when the sky has not yet become completely dark.

The second frame is slightly larger.

Such a walk I took in August this year. Of course I expected a beautiful sunset, but it was too cloudy.

Nevertheless, I was pleased with this walk.
