Lust

Challenging my own creative limits, I have ventured into one of the most distant subjects from what I usually do in my photographic projects. Today I want to share with you my vision of one of the most complex aspects of human nature, one of our most primitive instincts and most repressed by society.

Lust, that primitive instinct that dwells in the deepest part of our human nature. Lust is a force that drives us towards the most intense pleasures of the body, but it can also be a force that drives us to the brink of madness.

Lust is an intense feeling of sexual desire for someone or something. It is an instinct that makes us seek pleasure and sexual satisfaction, yes, and pushes us to explore our bodies and those of others. It is an impulse that can be very strong and difficult to control, especially when it comes to mutual attraction with another person.

This instinct is something that takes on a life of its own in most people, often arouses intense thoughts and pushes our imagination to the limit, which is why lust can become dangerous. It can lead us to commit sexual acts without thinking about the consequences, and it can make us act impulsively and risky. Lust can make us lose control, and it can lead us to do things we will later regret.

Lust can also be addictive. When we experience sexual pleasure, our brain releases a series of chemicals that make us feel good. These substances can make us feel euphoric and happy, and can lead us to seek more and more sexual pleasure. But this constant pursuit of sexual pleasure can become an obsession, and can cause us to lose balance in our lives.

It is important to remember that lust is not necessarily a bad thing. Sexual desire is a natural and healthy part of life, and can be a source of satisfaction and connection with others. But it is important to learn to control our sexual urges and act responsibly. We must respect the boundaries of others and be aware of the possible consequences of our actions.

It is not surprising that since the beginning of time societies have tried to control this instinct in the masses. A clear example is the religious societies that consider lust as one of the worst sins that can be committed.

Lust is that primitive instinct that can unleash our basest passions and drive us to the brink of madness. It is a powerful force that can be dangerous if not properly controlled. But it can also be a source of pleasure and connection with others if treated with respect and responsibility. It is important to learn to balance our sexual desires with our daily lives and to be aware of the possible consequences of our actions.

To explore in a visual way an artistic concept of lust, I have recreated an environment that evokes the mystery and seduction of sin, creating a scene with strong lights and diametrically opposed colors that contrast creating an atmosphere that stimulates lust. This time I have asked Dahomis to represent lust as a female figure of seduction and temptation, creating suggestive and disturbing poses that awaken the senses of the viewer.

These photos that I present to you today are the result of that essay in which I explore this primitive instinct from an artistic photographic approach far from everything I am used to do in my studio. I hope you enjoy it as much as Dahomis and I have enjoyed recreating this scene.
