Sisterhood for life

In my journey through photography I have met fascinating women who have shown me their most human and authentic side. Sometimes I have had the opportunity to photograph couples of very close friends, they consider themselves sisters in life.

I will be dedicating some publications to the friendship between women, their affinity, complicity and camaraderie. I invite you to read the first post of this series that I titled Friendship for life.

The relationship between female friends is a topic that can be intriguing to many men. From a male perspective, it may seem that women have a very strong and deep connection with each other, which can be difficult to understand. However, the reality is that friendship between women is a very valuable and meaningful relationship that is based on trust, empathy and mutual support.

For us men, it is more complex to understand that friendship between women is very different from friendship between men. Women tend to share more emotions and feelings with each other, while men tend to focus more on common activities and hobbies. Women can talk about their problems and concerns more easily, while men tend to be more reserved in this regard. Therefore, it is natural that the relationship between female friends may seem closer and more intimate than the relationship between male friends.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that female friendships are not necessarily exclusive. Often, women have several circles of female friends and can be equally comfortable in any of them. Also, friendship between women does not necessarily imply romantic or sexual attraction, although there can sometimes be some confusion in this regard.

As for the activities they do together, it is true that female friends can share many things, such as going out shopping, going to the movies, playing sports, etc. They may even have a deeper friendship in which they share their most intimate secrets, as if they were really a pair of sisters who grew up together. But it is also true that women can have a wide variety of interests and do not all share the same tastes. Therefore, it is important not to fall into stereotypes and to understand that each friendship is unique and based on common interests and values.

This series of photographs that I present to you today are a true reflection of how powerful friendship between women can be. Ella and Lilian have been friends since they were teenagers and have accompanied each other throughout their lives, providing mutual support at all stages of their lives. They have shared their joys and sorrows, their loves and heartbreaks, their successes and failures. Their friendship has grown stronger over time.

In short, friendship between women is a very valuable relationship that is based on trust, empathy and mutual support. It is a relationship that may seem closer and more intimate than friendship between men, but that does not mean it is exclusive or that there is a romantic or sexual attraction behind it. Men can learn a lot from female friendships, such as the importance of open communication and mutual support, and they can develop equally valuable relationships with their male friends.

I want to dedicate this publication to this beautiful friendship that Ella and Lilian have cultivated. I am very grateful to them for allowing me to take these photographs that immortalize their sisterhood for life.
