CENTRO DO RIO DE JANEIRO 40 GRAUS

How's this wonderful community, all right? Today I come to show you a walk with my wife in downtown Rio de Janeiro! We did not go through all the sights because you need to walk and really the thermometers marked 40 degrees.

The Church of Nossa Senhora da Candelaria is a Catholic temple located in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is one of the main religious monuments of the city, a traditional stage of weddings of Rio de Janeiro society.
IMG-5687.jpg
IMG-5702.jpg
The Espaço Cultural da Marinha (ECM) is installed in the old docks of Customs, built on a grounded area in the second half of the nineteenth century, located at the end of Praça Quinze de Novembro, in front of Av. President Vargas. When you visit The ECM, you will embark on a sensational journey through the history of Brazil and navigation. Right at the entrance, the exuberant Galeota D. João VI will transport it to the 19th century. The journey continues aboard the Submarine Riachuelo and the Nau dos Descobrimentos, moored to the pier of the Cultural Space. In its courtyard, you can also visit the Helicopter Museum.

Well we've been to all these places, we've been wanting to have lunch. haha I promise I'll go again to shoot for you.

This is one of my favorite places on the planet. Square XV has a skateboarding culture that stretches over the years. In the old day we suffered repression by the authorities who did not allow the practice of skateboarding in the square. Nowadays the situation is different, and we can leave up to some obstacles. Amen!
IMG-5710.jpg
I LOVE XV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Urban Skateboarding, Art and Activism in Praça XV since 1997. The I❤️ XV is our annual event in the ❤️ of 🛹 carioca. Free Skate!
If you observe by the community will find excellent posts from my friend @fmajuniorphoto ! he has great skateboard materials on the Praça XV

There are VLT scans on the three lines from 6am to midnight on the holiday of St. Sebastian. If you need to get around, be sure to validate your card when boarding the trains. And wear the mask all the way. Health is a priority! Ask your questions in http://bit.ly/3FJgvbr

I was very hungry and for 19 reais I ate this plate of Omelet with Cheese. And for another 15 reais I took 2 caipirinhas.

Rua do Ouvidor was once the most important street in Rio before the opening of Av. Rio Branco. Narrow as it was in the days of the Colonial River, it has varied commerce, and in a small stretch, encrusted in the Historic Center, has cultural and gastronomic attractions.
IMG-5770.jpg
Then we went to CCBB (Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil) is a few meters from Rua do Ouvidor. Some exhibits have to pay a small fee other than you won't need. We went to see some works by Leandro Erlich.
Erlich's work is structured in the mechanism of doubt, of questioning what our senses perceive at odds with what our mind knows. The viewer is put in banal everyday situations, such as taking an elevator, being in a classroom, but the optical illusions and the subversion of reality proposed by the artists make their works gain connotations of surrealist adventure.

Then we passed the TABACARIA AFRICANA, we went to the Paço Imperial and the RJ VANDAL store.
IMG-5723.jpg
With the history of the second oldest commercial house in Rio de Janeiro and the oldest tobacconist in Brazil, founded in 1846, it followed the evolution of the city from the times of the Empire to the present. In its nearly 170 years, Africana has been serving anonymous clients and illustrious characters with the same affection and respect.

IMG-5731.jpg
Paço Imperial is a colonial building located in the center of Rio de Janeiro. What this construction has the strongest is the fact that it has always sheltered the powerful of the beginning of the Wonderful City.

What a hot day! I would rather stay home on a day like this, but it's beautiful to roam around the city. How do you get around these places?

Helloo, nice to meet you! Yes yes, it's good to go early in the morning or late afternoon. Rio de Janeiro is hot like this almost always. You just need to get to Praça XV or Candelaria. It can be uber, bus or subway. From this you can get to know all these places with a 5 minute walk between one and the other.

Great post @boeltermc, thanks for sharing. My attention was captured by that kind of cloud inside a box... Is that also work from Leandro Erlich? Do you by any chance know the meaning of that work of art?

It's also his work @aurzeq. In fact he named So The Cloud - South America... the others I don't remember. He used glass printing and placed a glass next to each other. Each Cloud is 6 glasses.
