Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Hey guyz,
Um back people with another blog post in HIVE.
This time I'm going to show my first play of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
I started the offline play and at first I checked the game settings. Graphics setting was high and I started this way.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was developed by FROM SOFTWARE and published by ACTIVISION at 22 March 2019. It's an action-adventure game.
Plot:
Following the Sengoku period, Isshin Ashina seized control of the land of Ashina.[1] During this time, a nameless orphan is adopted by the wandering shinobi known as "Owl", who named the boy "Wolf", and trained him in the ways of the shinobi. Two decades later, Ashina is on the brink of collapse due to the now elderly Isshin falling ill and the Interior Ministry, a group set on unifying Japan, steadily closing in. Desperate to save his clan, Isshin's adoptive grandson Genichiro seeks the immortal "Divine Heir" Kuro in hopes of using the "Dragon Heritage" in his blood to create an immortal army. Wolf, now a full-fledged shinobi and Kuro's personal bodyguard, fights Genichiro but loses the duel along with his left arm while Genichiro takes the boy. However, being immortal himself, Wolf survives and is found by a retired shinobi known as the "Sculpter", who nurses him back to health and gifts him a Shinobi Prosthetic. I streamed the gameplay in twitch with gamecaster streamer software.
Watch on youtube.
I was surprised when I understood that I needed to scroll to all the way down to accept the activision software license and service agreement. I normally skip this part with one or two clicks but this game has this extreme level license that the players have to at least scroll down to the fullest if they don't want to read it.
The intro animation looked epic.
In the closing years of the Sengoku Era, Japan was consumed by perpetual conflict.
A man was passing a beautiful forest and he was badly injured. After passing the forest and set foot on the open place,
He could see his own kind getting slaughtered by the stronger. He had nothing to do but giving up and he sat on the ground.
A ninja slaughtered a man and then was about to slaughtered the injured man as well.
But an arrow pierced through the ninjas neck.
"Is the war finally over?" The injured man asked himself.
Then there was another plot where two men were fighting among themself where one was a mighty big beast and another one was a ninja himself.
The big man was stronger and had a strong weapon as well.
But the other man had the will to win and he did win after killing the big man.
It was General Tamura who just got slaughtered by the ninja and I thought for a moment that this ninja might be the hero of this game. That man was Master swordsman Isshin Ashina whoe just staged a bloody coup and wrested control of the land.
The weather seemed cool and silent after the war has ended.
A man with a sword was walking around.
And there was this little boy who just lost his kin.
The old man with the sword came near the boy and asked him,
"What's the matter, stray? Nothing left to lose?"
The little boy touched the big sword and the old man asked the boy if he would join him.
The young boy was taken from the battlefield on that day. He trained relentlessly and indeed went on to become a master Shinobi.
The young boy grew and became a grownup man. The old man who took him became a father to him. The old man was saying, "As your father, my word is absolute. Your master's is a close second. As of today, he is your master. Defend him with your life. If he is taken, bring him back at any cost."
The old man was talking about a master but I didn't see anyone like that there.
Well then the intro was ended.
So, it's 20 years later and the boy, the master that our hero sworn to protect has been taken away and our hero was inside a cave waiting like in hibernation.
Someone came over near the cave and dropped a letter or something like that near our hero known as Wolf and asked him to open his eyes for the sake of his master.
The Wolf opened his eyes and stood on his feet and I had the control to move him as I wish.
First I picked up the letter.
It's an Ornamental Letter.
The letter asked Wolf to escape from the well and find the tower bathed in moonlight where his destiny awaits him. Wolf can reach it even without a blade just by staying silent and vigilant. I escaped the well.
And there was this big words popped up as "Ashina Reservoir".
I'm confused whether it's the location name or the chapters name.
I started moving forward and after passing through the edge of the mountain,
I had to move further without being seen by crouching in bushes or moving under floors. There were strong enemies and I didn't have any sword at the moment so I had to move this way.
After moving like this, I reached a place and eavesdropped the conversation of two enemies and they were talking about a way to get the moon view tower door. I got to know that there's a hole in the tower that was not fixed. So I kept moving in that way without having any map. It's just like you need to see where you can go and where you can't. Then I found the hole and entered the tower.
There was a little boy or girl maybe reading something.
Well this is the master that Wolf has sworn to protect. So we were at the right path till then.
After having some conversations, the master gave Wolf a sword named Kusabimaru.
And a portion of Healing Gourd to heal himself. After getting healed, I left the master there to make the way clear. Then I started killing the guards there.
Killing the guards from behind was easy but killing them when they were also attacking me was not that easy. Anyhow I killed some guards and there came a leader of the guards that's known as Leader Shigenori Yamauchi.
He was a strong opponent and I failed before him at the first try. Although I didn't try the second as I was already bored of getting killed. Yeah, I got killed 2/3 times already and the last checkpoint was not so near so I got bored and the main problem was that my PC system was not supporting the good graphics of this game although I could play in low graphics but I didn't like this game in low graphics.
So I stopped playing this game at this point. Both for the graphics problem and cause I was getting killed continuously.
Maybe I'll try it again when I'll have a good GPU.
I'm in for some shooting nowadays so I'm going to start playing Call of Duty.
My PC Specs:
Operating System: Windows 11 Pro
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor, 3.60 GHz
RAM: 16.0 GB
GPU: Gt 730

End of the post.
Peace.
I need to get around to playing this game soon. It looks really cool. For some reason the old Japanese aesthetic has always thrown me off. One of the few missing From Software games on my list.
Yes worth trying and it seems From Software is releasing cool stuffs non-stop.
