Madrugada is one of my favorite European groups, and when they broke up, despite the fact that their vocalist went solo with quite a bit of success, in my opinion it never sounded as good as when he was with the band.
Fortunately, the band has reunited, and not only out of nostalgia, but with the idea of returning to the stage permanently, and their most recent album entitled 'Chimes At Midnight' from this year is proof of this. The album is really good, one of the best I've heard from them, and it has come hand in hand with a series of very good minimalist videos, recorded in their native Norway, in the area where their members were born and raised, and this is one of them.
Madrugada es uno de mis grupos europeos favoritos, y cuando se separaron, a pesar de que su vocalista siguió su camino en solitario con bastante éxito, a mi juicio nunca sonó también que como cuando estaba con la banda.
Afortundamente la banda se ha vuelto a reunir, y no solo por la nostalgia, sino con la idea de retomar los escenarios de manera permanente, y su más reciente disco titulado 'Chimes At Midnight' de este año, es prueba de ello. El disco es realmente bueno, de lo mejor que les he escuchado, y ha venido de la mano con una serie de videos minimalistas muy buenos, grabados en su natal Noruega, en la zona que vio nacer y crecer a sus integrantes, y este es uno de ellos.

Instrumental rock had an important period a couple of decades ago with the post-rock boom, but in general it has always been somewhat in the shade, and it still is, despite the great quality of many of its exponents.
Maserati is one of those great instrumental rock bands that deserves more recognition than it gets, but despite this has managed to build a solid career over the years. This is one of my favorite songs from the band and one of the first I heard from them about 10 years ago.
El rock instrumental tuvo hace un par de décadas una época importante con el boom del postrock, pero en general siempre ha estado un poco a la sombra, y lo sigue estando, a pesar de la gran calidad de muchos de sus exponentes.
Maserati es una de esas grandes bandas del rock instrumental que merece más reconocimiento del que tiene, pero que a pesr de ello ha logrado construir una trayectoria sólida a lo largo de los años. Este es uno de mis temas favoritos de la banda y de los primeros que escuché de ellos hace ya unos 10 años.

Garbage is a band that since it became known more than 20 years ago, has attracted attention due to the great stage presence and voice of its vocalist, unknown until then, and the great quality as musicians and producers, of the rest of its members.
Unfortunately, after two very notable first albums, and a third that was not on the same level but had its merits, the band has failed to replicate its initial success, and although it is considered a cult band, it owes its fans an album at the height of what we know they can do. This video is a rarity that I came across by chance, his song '#1 Crush' performed live with Howard Stern.
Garbage es una banda que desde que se dio a conocer hace ya más de 20 años, acaparó la atención por la gran presencia escénica y voz de su vocalista, desconocida hasta ese momento, y la gran calidad como músicos y productores, del resto de sus integrantes.
Desafortunadamente, después de dos muy destacados primeros álbums, y un tercero que no tenía el mismo nivel pero que tenía lo suyo, la banda no ha logrado replicar su éxito inicial, y aunque es considerada una banda de culto, nos debe a sus fans un disco a la altura de lo que sabemos que pueden hacer. Este video es una rareza que me encontré por casualidad, su tema '#1 Crush' interpretado en vivo con Howard Stern.
Cassandra Wilson - Don't Explain

One of the voices that made me fall in love with jazz is that of Cassandra Wilson. Her tone so peculiar to her is as if a thick and somewhat rough velvet caressed your ears.
I have intermittently followed her career, and every time I listen to her I notice her a little older, but with the same quality as always. This song has certain shades of blues, but it is an excellent song, which shows us the powerful but at the same time intimate voice of this great exponent of international jazz.
Una de las voces que me hicieron enamorarme del jazz es la de Cassandra Wilson. Su tono tan peculiar es como si un terciopelo grueso y algo aspero te acariciara los oídos.
He seguido de manera intermitente su carrera, y cada vez que la escucho la noto un poco mayor, pero con la misma calidad de siempre. Este tema tiene ciertos tintes de blus, pero es un excelente tema, que nos muestra la potente pero a la vez íntima voz de esta gran exponente del jazz internacional.
