Audio Bar 054: "Descartes a Kant, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Pixies" [EN / ES]

I've long known about the existence of Descartes to Kant, but never paid attention to it until I stumbled upon this video by chance. I watched it because I recognized the name and was struck by the cover image, but I had no idea what I would hear. To my surprise what I heard was most interesting, new and familiar at the same time.

After doing some research I discovered that the band has always been very experimental, and in this album, very much in tune with the beginning of the era of artificial intelligence, they mix electronic elements that remind us a lot of Kraftwerk, with classic rock sounds, but very much in the line of art rock or experimental rock. The video is really good, and the song has become one of my favorites of this year, I hope you like it.

Hace mucho que se de la existencia de Descartes a Kant, pero nunca le presté atención hasta que me topé con este video por casualidad. Lo vi porque reconocí el nombre y me llamó la atención la imagen de portada, pero no tenía idea de que escucharía. Para mi sorpresa lo que escuché me resultó de lo más interesante, nuevo y familiar a la vez.

Checking if I hadn't presented this song before I realized that Nine Inch Nails is one of the bands I share the most in this section, and that's because of its great quality and variety, and because it's one of my favorite musical proposals.

In this song, which starts as an electronic track and then turns into a hard rock with strong industrial rock sounds, of which the band is a precursor, we can find many of the characteristic elements of this project of Trent Reznor, and the video helps a lot with this, since it is a camera that makes us feel like one more member of the band as it moves along the stage accompanying them in their presentation.

Revisando si no había presentado esta canción antes me di cuenta de que Nine Inch Nails es de las bandas que más comparto en esta sección, y eso es debido a su gran calidad y variedad, y a que es una de mis propuestas favoritas.

This is a track from the early days of The Cure, and despite the decades that have passed since they released it, it still sounds fresh and current. The band's sound is so particular and unique that despite the time it seems not to age.

While I was looking for videos of this song I came across one from the time they released it, and although the song doesn't seem to have aged, its performers have, and that's why I value so much these live videos that record recent performances of the band, and in which besides being able to see mature attendees, as is to be expected, one also sees present the new generations who discover and fall in love with this timeless and high quality music.

Este es un tema de los inicios de The Cure, y a pesar de las décadas que han pasado desde que lo dieron a conocer, se sigue escuchando vigente y actual. El sonido de la banda es tan particular y único que a pesar del tiempo parece no envejecer.

Since I first heard Nirvana the word Pixies appeared and became familiar to me, because everyone said it had been one of their biggest influences. I remember listening to some of the band at the time, but it didn't hook me.

Since then several songs by the band have become part of my favorites, but it wasn't until now, with this song, that I finally understand the reference to it when talking about Nirvana, and I have an excellent pretext to listen to more of this iconic band again.

Desde que escuché por primera vez a Nirvana apareció la palabra Pixies se volvió familiar para mi, porque todo mundo decía que había sido una de sus más grandes inflencias. Recuuerdo que en ese momento escuché algo de la banda, pero no me enganchó.
