Music: "Four rock bands worth seeing live", by bonzopoe
Music is said to be best heard live, and unable to attend as many concerts as I wanted, I have become a fan of live performance videos. This is because they tend to have a more real sound, less manipulated, and because one can get to know the artist more by seeing him perform his songs in official videos.
There are great performers who allow themselves freedoms live that you don't find on a record. Special versions of the songs, mixes of these, guest musicians, the stages and the whole atmosphere of a live presentation, make this something special.
Despite this, there are groups that do not manage to sound as good live as on their albums or do not project much on stage. But there are others that are a guarantee and watching their videos live is a real enjoyment. Today I wanted to share with you some rock groups that have the peculiarity of being excellent live, hoping they are to your liking and interest.
We start with one of the Hard Rock classics, the Australian band AC / DC. Founded in 1973 and with more than 200 million records sold, AC / DC is guaranteed to be a show for two reasons, its frontman, Brian Johnson and its lead guitarist, the spectacular Angus Young who always comes out to play in his infant uniform. who goes to school, regardless of his 60-plus years.
Lately some of their most iconic songs appear a lot on movie soundtracks, which has introduced them to a new generation of listeners. I share with you a couple of songs from his epic concert at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires.
This British band has an ideal style for live performances, mixing alternative rock, space rock, progressive rock, symphonic rock and electronic music. Made up of three excellent musicians, plus one for support, they have a sound that reaches the epic in their live performances, famous for being spectacular.
But beyond the production of these, regardless of the size of the stage in which this band stands, they are a guarantee of a good show, and as evidence I leave you two songs that show only a part of what this band is capable of.
-Red Hot Chili Peppers
Another band that excels at live performances is the Red Hot Chili Peppers, a Californian band that mixes rap, pop rock, heavy metal, punk, dance, indie rock and their trademark funk. This band has had several guitarist changes, all of them excellent, and those who, in addition to adapting to the style of the band, have been able to contribute their personal stamp.
I also share two videos of this band, with whom I consider to have been their best guitarist, John Frusciante, one of those tormented but brilliant musicians, who recently rejoined the band.
Finally, I share with you a band that I have enjoyed seeing grow and achieve global recognition. In a few years they went on to be a cult band with their album Neon Bible, to be the winner of the album of the year shortly after, something that nobody really expected, starting with them.
It is an extremely atypical band, made up of many members who incorporate unusual instruments in a rock band, and although it seems so now, if you see their videos from years ago it seemed like a band of geeks and nerds playing rockers.
I remember seeing one of their concerts after they won the Grammy for album of the year and they played with the enthusiasm of someone who still does not believe what they are experiencing. Today they continue to play with that energy and that authenticity, although their image already looks more cared for, but most importantly, their musical proposal remains as fresh and original as ever.
Thank you very much for reading this post and dedicating a moment of your time. Until next time and remember to leave a comment.
