Hollow Knight Walkthrough (Part 1)

Hey everyone! 🙂 I recently discovered this community, and am happy to add my own addition of the video game, Hollow Knight. Granted, this game has been released for a few years now (2017), but it is one that I enjoy for its simple, yet genius design. Hollow Knight is a 2D side scroller game, and while that may be considered "boring" by today's standards, it is a game that plays by the most important rule: a game doesn't need to have top graphics to be good; it just needs a solid storyline, good gameplay, and likeable characters!

Our story unfolds upon a dark setting. An isolated statue, held down by chains, appears motionless. Suddenly, an orange haze seems to form within its head, and the two eyes flash a menacing glare. Something has disturbed it...

Elsewhere, three faces on a tomb awaken as well.

The scene fades to black, and we are greeted instead with a tiny wandering bug.

It is adorned in a dark blue shawl, a skull of some sort, and a spearhead on its back.

It gazes out at a town in the distance... before plummeting to its doom!

Just kidding!~ It safely lands, and from here on out, this is who we shall be playing as: the Knight! 😃 Like any good game, the first chapter is primarily spent teaching us the basics. We run into our first enemies, such as Crawlids,

Tiktiks,

and Vengeflies.

We learn how to fight (surprise surprise the Knight's weapon of choice is the spearhead/Nail on its back). Like any great protagonist, the Knight also comes equipped with secret capabilities.

We discover that the currency is known as Geo, and that they form in rock deposits.

And we also discover that we are in the land of Hallownest...

After crossing the gate, we arrive at our first destination: Dirtmouth (nice name! 😄). Woohoo! We're on our way~

As we head into the town, we run into our first friendly face: Elderbug. He informs us that Dirtmouth is currently only inhabited by a few bugs; all the other bugs went off in search of their dreams, never to return again...

There even seems to be a cute lil' shop here!

Oh... I guess Elderbug wasn't kidding... We'll have to try again later!

Well, it appears we have come across the well that Elderbug warned us about: the gateway to the land of dreams. Should we take our own leap of faith into the unknown?...
