Modeling For The First Time

This weekend, I finally decided to model professionally for my boyfriend, the photographer! 😃

Before we had even met one another, I was aware that he dabbled in the art of photography. By our second date, he was already asking me if I would model for him someday 😅 The statement caught me by surprise, and like any normal person, I felt too self-conscious to even seriously consider his offer...

Well, two years of dating and one clothing package later, I finally felt I was confident enough to model! I was excited to show off my new outfit, more than anything!

All in all, my image consisted of: red dyed hair, purple eyeshadow, a "Baby" choker, pink plaid corset dress, spiked bra, and black winter boots! 😆

I have always focused on my physical flaws than my features--I feel my nose is crooked and big, one eye is bigger than the other, my hands are "too veiny," etc. And of course, as my boyfriend was showing me the photos, I could not help but notice them still... However, the more I heard him gush about "how beautiful" I looked, the more I decided to look for the beauty rather than the flaws.

Honestly... it worked~ I accepted my flaws, then moved past them. I was able to see what a lovely shade of blue my eyes were, how full my cheeks were when I smiled, how amazingly I pulled off the poses/looks...

I'm not saying my perception of myself has totally changed!.. But I am beginning to be more gentle with myself. Not only that, but I am more than excited for the next time I will model! 😄
