Alison Morrow on the Alex Jones verdict and freedom of speech
Alex Jones and the future of "misinformation" consequences
Alison Morrow, 10 August 2022
Very good discussion and analysis, in my opinion. Personally, I think you should oppose the oppression of Alex Jones' speech especially if you hate him. Because if the speech we find offensive is oppressed, then eventually it will all boil down to who finds what offensive, essentially.
Morrow also makes a very good point basically stating that terms used to differentiate who gets to speak and who does not are often vague beyond belief - terms like "hate speech", "misinformation", etc. - and thus can easily be weaponized by one party in society or another.
So I think it is worth a listen. And for the record: I am a free speech absolutist. So I support your right to prove me wrong, too - if that is your inclination.
