WALKING THE BIRD
Once upon a time, in 96' ... 97' ... or 98' ... I bought a Chinese souvenir in one of the first China shops in my nearest city. It looked cool, closed behind the glass, in an elliptic frame there were some houses or temples on high cliffs, made of cork ...or some similar wooden material ... and white Cranes made of semi - translucent paper.
Then some years later ... in 2009 or so ... I did some small sketch drawings of people in various poses ... I cut out those drawings and photographed their shadows in combination with the details from that souvenir ... and this is how the final result looked ... and still looks ... this photograph somehow survived in a place where could be found because was part of an exhibition. Other shots got lost on some forsaken CD or DVD.
That's it ... the photograph and the human shadow part of the artwork is my work ... the bird and the architecture were made by someone in China.
The human looks naked
It was a fast sketch, I don't remember exactly, but yes, I think there were no clothes on the drawing. But since is only a shadow :) can be naked or in tight clothes.
Yea, nice one
It's good that you see art in everything!)
:) It's a nice and non-expensive way to be surrounded by art.
That's true) I try to do the same with everything possible)
I love the tones and style of this image. The colour makes it really haunting and ethereal.
Thanks. :) Glad you like this atmosphere.
