Recycling: tendrils made with plastic bags

Hello friends!!

The planet is sending us clear signals that it needs from all of us; the high levels of pollution and the lack of awareness of many is affecting our environment. Today I want to address a topic that I have addressed on several occasions, promoting manual work with recycling materials for plastic waste, this time plastic bags in everyday objects.

Plastic production has increased in the last fifty years, among the most polluting is polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyvinyl chloride, among others. These contain certain additives and absorb heavy metals, pesticides and other toxins, which, as they are not handled well when discarded, end up in streets, parks, lakes, seas and oceans, among others. It is estimated that 9,000,000.0 tons of plastic reach the seas and oceans each year, taking hundreds of years to degrade, affecting marine species that end up entangled in large floating islands that are formed as a result of this waste; that are consumed by some of them and lead them to death, affecting the biological balance which can have lasting consequences.

I think that we must raise awareness and create habits from an early age that encourage children and young people to be responsible and use recycling as an alternative to promote manual work and transform them into objects of daily use, preventing these waste from ending up in places that are not appropriate and how much damage they cause to our ecosystems.

Today I show you a small example of what we can do with a plastic bag; some pretty tendrils, the procedure is as follows:

The bag is cut into strips and with a crochet needle we make 6 chains, in the next 5 rounds we make them with half stitches and we follow the same procedure to make the other pair.

We proceed to elaborate a detail along the edge, and we finish creating a hook with a 6-centimeter piece of wire, we follow the same procedure for the other pair and connect it to the earrings, so we have finished these cute and simple accessories made of plastic bags.

Friends, our planet needs the help of all of us, it will depend on our actions to take care of our future and save our planet. Contributing or contributing to our measure promoting practical ideas on this occasion, I think that we encourage and create habits with recycling through manual work with recycling to prevent our ecosystems from dying due to lack of awareness and indifference.

They are so pretty! I love upcycling ideas. It doesn't even look that complicated. Well, I'm sure that it would take me ages to learn how to do it but once it would work it would be easy :) Thank you for sharing and raising awareness!

That is super duper creative @bothanikha ! Definitely in the #onelessjunkonearth movement that I have been trying to do since 2019 haha. Come share your experience too in a new (I think) blockchain that I have created just to expose our awareness further.
Look for One Less Junk on Earth Community after you have signed up if you don't have an account there.

Here's my tiny 100% upvote in support. haha. Looking forward to see more of your creativity in the future!
