April Fool’s Day, and I was had.
Checking my work Discord channel this morning, I saw a message from a co-worker saying, Did you see the email from our manager? We’re finally going to get raises for each new contract we sign—an extra $50 a month.
Fucker! was the only word that came to mind when I realized I had been taken for a sucker.
Shortly after, my good three-piece suit on, I start changing my youngest son’s diapers and somehow end up with poop smeared down the leg of my trousers.
Yes. April is off to a good start, and so is the new fiscal year in Japan.
knocks at my door
achoo!
blowing through the arcade
a misty breeze
handprints left behind
on a mirror
the first sip of coffee
quiet and dark
replaced by
gentle murmurings
monolithic and concrete
named after flowers
a neighborhood stray
flicks its tail and yawns

Yeah April Fool’s Day here is always an apt reminder that taxes are due in two weeks 😞
Two years ago, my wife and I did April Fool’s in reverse. We told are our kids, Guess what. You’re going to be a big brother and big sister in a few months. Since it was April Fool’s they didn’t believe us, but it was the truth. They’re reactions were priceless as they figured the reality of the situation out.

I love them all, as I always do. You have a gift for haiku, no doubt, these each bring a very clear image to my mind, I can see what you saw. The handprints on the mirror is my favorite, makes me want to go leave handprints on mirrors so that faces can be touched.
I hope your sneeze has subsided, the cat has a belly full, and that the buildings bloom into the flowers they were named for. Odd choice for building names. I've noticed that many of the Asian women around here have chosen flowers for their English names.

Oh, those "beautiful" taxes. The new fiscal year, which begins in April, reminds me of my corporate days when chaos reigned as clients had different fiscal years—a blast for the finance department. ... And I'll go with the stray ;) Haiku 7.

I’ve done so much of what I’ve wanted to do in the past few years and, when I think about it, so many opportunities that I’ve dreamed of have come my way, but now I find myself wanting to take everything one step further and feeling stuck.
I like to reverse engineer things, which gets us closer to the core. Therefore, the questions are: Who are you? What do you really want? -- These are based on how you perceive the world today, as that might change in the future based on your growth mindset (which is amazing!).
The fact that you've turned your dreams into reality suggests that you understand how the universe (aka the game we're in) works. While you expand, you're looking for new human experiences. You've used the word "stuck," which is often a byproduct of stuck energy. Connecting with your innate intelligence and observing the answers that pop up is essential. The most important thing to remember is to avoid judging the answers. There is no right or wrong answer. Observe what comes to the surface and see how you resonate with it. Maybe you're looking for a new environment with a different job, or perhaps you're up for an entirely crazy adventure that leads you down the entrepreneurial route. The lifestyle you long for today might contrast with everything you've wanted thus far and require new skills and experience. Nail the "who" and "what" first before you focus on the "how."
