An Offensive Showcase!

If I were to say the Coffman Shamrocks Girls Varsity team was dropping bombs right now it would be a gross understatement. My nieces team has played three games in the last three days and they have put up a massive 56 runs combined in all of those games.

Last night they reached that total with a 17 to 1 victory over Reynoldsburg. I wasn't quite sure how this game was going to go because in the past Reynoldsburg has been a big rival of the Shamrocks. Especially during basketball season. I remember a few years ago the "Rocks" were knocked out of the playoffs by this school. To say there is some bad blood would also be an understatement.

Actually, a lot of that bad blood goes back towards a single player on the Reynoldsburg team and her dad who would act a fool trash talking on social media. I mean, if you are an adult publicly trash talking high school girls, it's pretty clear where the problem lies.

Anyway, none of that mattered last night as the Rocks rolled past their opponent.

My niece made it to the bases and across home plate several times, but unfortunately most of those were walks. I think she got walked at least three or four times. I talked to her last night and she was quite frustrated by this. She said that the way the girls pitch in school ball is much different than travel ball. It messes up your rhythm and timing as a hitter. I know her quite well though and I know she will figure it out!

Oddly enough, there weren't that many (if any) home runs last night. Each of those 17 runs were earned the old fashioned way by hitting balls into gaps and moving players around the bases.

The Rocks are in action again today against another local team before getting the rest of the Easter weekend off.

Meanwhile, her older sister has a double header today with her university team against Cedarville in Cedarville, OH. I am looking forward to watching all of these games via streaming. Isn't modern technology wonderful!

There was some basketball on last night too. Unfortunately, Alabama and Clemson messed up my bracket a little bit beating North Carolina and Arizona respectively. Despite coming out slow, Arizona did their best to make a game of it.

The Alabama/NC game and the Illinois/Iowa State games were both quite close only decided by less than a handful of points.

Tonight we have another four games and despite what happens, the only thing I need is for Tennessee to make it through. I have them in the final two versus UConn and after UConn's manhandling of San Diego State last night, there isn't a ton of doubt that side of the bracket is pretty sound.

The Big East is no joke though and it isn't going to be easy for Tennessee to get past Creighton. Meanwhile, Houston faces off against Duke, Purdue takes on Gonzaga, and North Carolina State battles Marquette.

I am not going to tell you which game to watch tonight because I think you won't be disappointed watching any of these games!

The Women's tournament continues today as well. I might try to catch some of those games. It sounds like a busy day of sports for me!
