Another Big Weekend of Softball

As I mentioned yesterday, it looks like it is going to be another weekend full of softball for me. Along with the College Softball World Series starting last night, I also heading back down to Ohio to watch my niece play with her travel team.

Meanwhile, my other niece is back at her university this weekend working at a camp for high school and middle school players. It is going to be interesting for her to be on the other side of things with this camp. She used to attend these camps herself when she was younger.

Her goal is to be a teacher one day, so getting some experience under her belt is never a bad thing!

@mrsbozz and I are driving down to Ohio after work today and we are going to be staying in a hotel. Action starts early on Saturday at 8:00 AM with the Lasers taking on MOV Pride.

After that, they face off against Texas Glory at 9:30, and then Team Ohio White at 12:30

It's actually a rare thing for their pool play to be finished so early in the day. We are usually at the fields until well after 5:00 PM on pool play day.

Then, on Sunday, bracket play will start up and depending on when their first game is, we might stick around for that too.

Despite the fact that it is supposed to be quite hot down there, I am looking forward to seeing her in action again.

As I mentioned, the semifinal games of the College Softball World Series started up last night. In the first game we saw Tennessee take on Alabama with the Volunteers coming out on top 10 to 5. That's the first loss for Alabama in this part of the tournament. One more and they will be heading home.

The #1 seed Oklahoma team beat Stanford 2 to 0, and Florida State bested Oklahoma State 8 to 0.

Today we have Utah facing off against Washington, then whoever loses that game will be facing off against Oklahoma State I think. Finally, Alabama and Stanford have one chance to redeem themselves when they face off against each other today at 7:00 PM EST.

Finally, on Saturday, Tennessee faces off against Oklahoma in what will be a two or three game series given the fact that neither of them have one. Then, whoever comes out from the games today will face off against Florida State.

Check back on Monday for all of the updates!

We flew into Ohio on Thursday! It's been so hot here but it looks like it's going to be a little cooler today. I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Yeah, Findlay was blazing on Saturday, but then that front came through later in the day that dumped a couple storms on Columbus and it was almost chilly on Sunday morning!
