Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 16: The finale has been set!

Fantasy Football (1).png

Guess what? After this post you only have to read one more fantasy football post and then we are finished until the 2023 season! That's right, the finals are right around the corner and I am extremely sad to say that my wife didn't make it in.

She was down by four points or so going into the Monday night football game. She needed her last player to score at least 5 points and she would be in. As you can guess, that didn't happen. @mrsbozz is a bit dejected to say the least. I can't really blame her. This is the second or third time she has come so close to winning only to get knocked out.

It sucks. I know I say this every year, but this might be the last year we do this. There just wasn't as much engagement as I remember in the past. Many of the team owners didn't even bother to check their rosters half of the season. Then of course we had my screw up which led to my niece stacking her team with some insane talent.

She is in the finals of course. She will be going up against our sister in law that knocked my wife out of the running. Can you guess who I am cheering for?

It's bizarre to because this sister in law doesn't appear to have a vast store of football knowledge. I think it is just blind luck that she continues to do so well each year. How can you compete against luck like that? It's impossible.

Not that it even matters, but I won my contest last week to put me in the running for either the 7th or 8th place in the consolation bracket. Looking at the score, I am not sure my other niece even bothered to check her roster.

Either that or it was just another case of stats being absolutely miserable this year. I feel like scoring has been so hard to come by. I have a feeling if we do have a league next year, we are going to cut down some of the roster slots. That way people can't stack up on all of the good players. Perhaps we drop the third Wide Receiver position as well as the second Running back and leave the flex position.

We will have to vote on it. I have a feeling the other teams won't want to go quite that drastic. We will see though.

As you can see, this was actually not a horrible week for me. Sure Brady still sucks. 281 passing yards isn't bad, but when you add 2 interceptions, it brings your numbers down quite a bit. Higgins and Henry were the stars of the week for sure.

Everyone else did pretty acceptable with the exception of my defense. The Broncos had a rough game against the Rams. I guess I should have played the Dolphins defense.

I had to make another late tight end addition with Goedert and he did pretty acceptable with 6.7 points. All of my players were in acceptable margins except for Brady and Denver. Any other week, this probably would have been a nice win.

Since it is the consolation bracket, who really cares....

I should also give a shout out to my kicker. Gano from the Giants put up a massive 14 points. Well done!

Once again, my bench was pretty much trash. Sure, the 4 points from Miami's defense would have been better than the -4 from Denver, but other than that, nothing would have helped me on the bench. These are all some pretty lackluster numbers.

The good news is, I don't think the bench would have helped my niece too much either. She was on a one way trip to the 11th/12th place game before the matchup even started.

@mrsbozz will be playing her youngest brother for the 3rd place spot this coming weekend. I honestly don't know if she even cares. She probably won't even look at her roster.

Check back next week to see who goes home with all the marbles (and a bunch of $5 gift cards). Is your fantasy football season over? How did you do? Are you in the championship game? Let me know about it in the comments!
