A Chain of Dumpster Fires...

Talk about walking into a crap show... That's likely where a lot of people are after all the stuff that has been going on in the crypto space. I recently got my friend to invest a little bit of money in Hive and I almost feel bad for him.

Not because of Hive of course, I really don't think there is anywhere better he could be putting his money right now. It's just the fact that I had him do it right before the whole FTX thing and now here we are.

As if the Luna dumpster fire wasn't enough, we had to get hit with this whammy. Of course, I think they were necessary, but it still doesn't make it sting any less. Especially for those who had large sums of money invested. Or large to them.

I had some plans this morning to go to an appointment and then leisurely make my way into work. Wouldn't you know it, I get a call from my wife (who works where I do) that the Internet and phones are done throughout the entity.

Yet another dumpster fire to navigate. I'm actually still working through the aftermath of that. I was able to get phones up and running, but Internet has been a different story entirely. I'm actually a bit surprised that people aren't standing outside my door with pitchforks and torches.

Waiting to make a dumpster fire out of me.

Good thing I know a few tricks of the trade so that I can still be here on Hive interacting with you while the Internet is down. It's magic really.

Speaking of dumpster fires, have you noticed how bad engagement and curation are on Hive lately? I mean horrible. It's like they just dropped off the face of the Earth. Sure, there are still some of us still kicking around, but many of the regulars seem to have faded into the background.

It doesn't really change things for me, but it is still a bit disappointing to see. How fickle we seem to be at times. The truth is, Hive has given back to me just about as much as I have given to it. Why quit now.

I've gotta cut this short. My virtual machine is up now and I can start working on recovering my server settings.

Here's to the dumpster fires of life am I right?!

You have been having fun and games at work!
Normally people go mental with no internet, so I think you have got off lightly, and glad you know the tricks to get on!
I feel for your friend, oh well I hope they engage on Hive and make some more rewards.

No, not fun at all. My blood pressure has to be through the roof right now. I am surprised I haven't had a heart attack yet. I've got a whole district of school kids wondering what is up with the Internet!

The FTX thing shakes people up, but I still believe in Hive. I'm earning here every day, so I'll be better off when the price goes back up. I am not affected by FTX generally as I hadn't even heard of it before this kicked off. Those with HBD savings will be smiling as that is back at the peg and still paying them nicely.

Too many people panic over isolated incidents.

I agree with all of that. I am trying to grow my hp a bit more now that I hit my last HBD savings goal.

Aye, it has been hard finding content in general. And lots of people missing. Gina bot is not working for me after the latest Hard Fork, too. Not making things easier.

And I, myself, I got less and less time and energy for socializing. Sad but that's what this whole period seems like. Trying my best to cast votes manually and often, post some activity coupled with some random thoughts...

...

As to the fires of late, they were quite necessary. It was, after all, due to still more centralization and counter party risk permeating the crypto space. Far from the essence of Satoshism, no?

Yeah, I gave up on GinaBot a long time ago. I just use Ecency now and the favorite section of PeakD. Those work really well for getting me the content that I need. I think things will pick up eventually. Like I said, it usually gets this way around the end of the year. Coupled with the bear market that doesn't help. It would be interesting to see what Satoshi thinks of the current state of things...
