I sure I am not the first one to write a post about this. I honestly haven't had time to look yet because I have been too busy playing this game to really take the time to notice.

R-Planet has a pretty tumultuous history if you can really consider the past three years to be "history".

It all started with them allowing you to stake your NFTs from other projects to earn a token called Aether. Then, they started dropping their own NFTs that would allow you to mine even more Aether. Before long, the price of Aether was going down the tubes because there was so much flooding the market and the token cap was so insanely high.

Meanwhile they started a crafting feature where you could create new elements to stake by burning Aether. It really didn't do too much to cut down the amount of Aether that was floating around. The accounts that already had a ton of Aether were able to buy the materials to create elements to earn even more. It was a typical scenario of the rich getting richer.

They also released land NFTs which could be staked in the game and crossed over into the Uplift World to play in Minecraft. While some people took to this right away, others languished and in the mean time, the price of Aether just continued to tank.

Finally, they introduced the RDAO token and created several ways to help burn even more Aether than before. During that time they also held some robot sales which required WAX to buy. These robots were supposed to be for some future game that had yet to be released.

Until now.

R-Planet APP is a mobile game that you can download and play on your smartphone, tablet, or emulator through the AppStore and the Google Play store. As you can see above, it is your basic base builder game. It runs in seasons and after all but 100 bases have been destroyed the season restarts and the top 100 players get a trophy.

Right now, it is only closed alpha. I entered a lottery where I spent some of my Aether to get a ticket so I could participate in the closed alpha.

The game itself reminds me a lot of Vikings: War of Clans if you have ever played that. I have heard it is pretty much a clone of some other game. I think there are a lot of them out there. Basically, build up buildings to grow your base and allow you to build better units. Send the units out to attack other bases and steal their resources. Try to dominate. You get the idea.

Knowing that this game has only been out for a week, and knowing what some of those other games have grown into, I think there is a lot of potential here. I like the fact that anyone can down load it and start playing.

Remember those robots and lands I mentioned? Those can be imported into the game to help you earn more resources per minute or to help you have more units to attack with. Lands can be swapped out at any time. Robots on the other hand are a one time use thing. Once you pull them into the game, you can't get them back out again.

When you start the game, you immediately get a 100 hour shield. Which is nice, especially for people like me who suck at games like this. So far I haven't died yet, but with my shield now expired, I am getting hammered and it is only a matter of time before they start destroying buildings and my base is done.

The game is pretty smooth and for an alpha I haven't really seen any glitches or things that have me concerned about the play-ability. I have a feeling there will be some balancing of units they need to do in the future and likely other tweaks, but for now it seems pretty solid.

There are three factions you can join when you start the game. Renegades, Warriors, and Masterminds. While I am sure each has it's benefits, I know a lot of people went with warriors since this is a battle based game. One of the early perks of being a warrior is the fact that you get two builders. This is honestly pretty huge and I think picking masterminds is going to come back and bite me now. I just can't build fast enough.

I think in due time we will get more information about the game. I also think people will start building META's that will give you a game plan of what buildings to focus on first for each faction.

There is an internal market where you can buy, sell, and trade resources with other players. It seems to be fluid and there is a lot of transactions happening every second. Just remember that transporting all of those minerals takes time and that might be time you need to build something else.

There aren't official alliances yet, but I know a lot of people have started to create their own on Telegram and Discord. I can see there starting to be some pretty big ones were players help each other and reinforce each others bases. Like I said, there is a ton of room for growth here...

The buildings and units are pretty run of the mill. Each one has prerequisites that need to be met before you can start manufacturing them. Those requirements show up in red above. As you can see I am a long way from making factories.

It is kind of cool that you can build multiple buildings. So I can make more than one "stash" to increase my savings. Of course if that building gets destroyed, it doesn't matter how much I have stashed away.

Right now there is a mad race to create artillery because that is what will start whittling the 1000 players down to 100.

The terraformer is where you can bring in your lands from R-Planet. As you can see, these are my NFTs that I owned for close to a year outside the game. I have brought them in and I am using two of them to help boost that resource gathering.

I like the concept and I think this should finally bring some value back to these NFTs. Assuming the game grows the way they are hoping.

I know that the 1-Up community is all about play to earn. Well, as far as I know, the P2E aspect will be present in R-Planet App. From what I understand that RDAO token I mentioned earlier can be staked and depending on how much you have staked, you get a cut of all the sales that happen for the game.

So remember those robots that I bought earlier that you can import into the game. Anytime robots are sold in the future for the R-Planet App game, people who are staking the RDAO token will get a cut of those proceeds.

That's the way I understand it anyway. I am sure there are going to be many nuances and changes to the project before the final game is released. Also, remember those minerals in game that are used for pretty much everything? There has been a crypto market for those same minerals on https://Alcor.exchange for just about a year now.

Assuming they allow you to import minerals held outside the game into the game, you could see those per WAX price of those minerals get a significant pump.

Over the years R-Planet has definitely done quite a few things wrong. I really appreciate that they are trying to do something to right the ship and from what I am seeing so far, they just might be on the right track!

Did you get an alpha pass for R-Planet.app? What do you think so far? If you didn't, is this something you think you might play once the full game is out?
