Big things are coming

Let me start with Leo and a thank you to @TheycallmeDan for the inspiration in his tweets today.

To quote from Leo:

"Our entire #hive universe is about to change…

We’ve put so much work into two things:

  1. The new marketing platform that we’re launching on Feb 10th - will grow #leo user base to 5k MAUs this year
  2. New UI - launching Feb 14"

My first question. What does MAU stand for? If it us users am I the only one who thinks 5K is a low number. I have no idea what is going on in the background here so I am just guessing and trying to start a discussion.

But it is damn exciting.

AI

"Reputation is the best defense vs AI. Work on permissionless protocols, build your name by things you do in your community

Last time i checked AI can’t build water boreholes or participate is sporting events, AI can’t even look you in the eye & shake your hand"

That is a quote from TheycallmeDan today. To be honest I had absolutely nothing to talk about today. And as I am typing this I think I read @jongolson say the same sort of thing.

The point is if you got nothing to write about get reading until you do.

Back to AI. I have done a couple posts with info from ChatGPT but as a research tool or to make a point.

I love how to the point and concise Dan's statement is.

  1. Reputation
  2. Borehole

Are my two favorite things. I am my brand. My reputation is everything on Hive. If I loose that I got nothing.

Am I going to risk using AI to write posts for me? Not likely.

When AI can start doing real world awesome fracking sauce stuff like Boreholes then we can talk. Lol

Seriously though AI is going to have its place. All new technology takes time. Don't we know it with Hive. But AI is going to, I believe, turn onto one more tool in our box of a technology race that humans have become.

Thanks

To those of you writing to giving me something to read so I got ideas to write in return.

Reputation is definitely important but I still think there will be plenty of people choosing the cheaper option. I don't like it but there is a lawsuit happening against AI art and I want to see how that plays out first.

An AI-powered robot might be able to drill water boreholes though. Sometime in the future. A real AI, not these glorified chatbots that don't have the intelligence to go look up new information for themselves, much less evaluate the data they do have access to, which is limited to what their creators feed them. Today's "AI" is far from Daneel, or even Marvin.
