Process / Process

Once I already had the sketch and the idea of how to make it half fenix, I began with the base painting of the macaw, first a red color, with some touches similar to watercolor, I was trying some effects and ways of painting, in short after having placed all the base I began to place and to shade the body.

Una vez ya tenia el boceto y la idea de como hacerlo mitad fenix, empece con el pintado base de la guacamaya, primero un color rojo, con algunos toques parecidos a la acuarela, estaba probando algunos efectos y formas de pintado, en fin después de haber colocado toda la base empece a colocar y sombrear el cuerpo.

As the lights in this particular drawing would be quite strong I decided to paint them with a black, like a very dark gray to be in harmony with the tone of the glows, after having placed most of the shadows I started to place the glows in a yellow or mustard color quite strong.

Como las luces en este dibujo en particular serian bastante fuertes decidí pintarlas con un negro, como un gris muy oscuro para que quedara en armonía con la tonalidad de los brillos, despues de haber colocado la mayoría de las sombras empece a colocar los brillos en un amarillo o color mostaza bastante fuerte.

After placing the base of the glitters I placed a second stronger color in the drawing because I wanted those areas to stand out much more than the others, then I was refining some glitters in the super long feathers.

Luego de colocar la base de los brillos coloque un segundo color mas fuerte en el dibujo ya que quería que esas zonas resaltaran mucho mas que las demás, después fui afinando algunos brillos en las plumas super largas.

Finally I began to place scattered shines for all the feathers besides placing the shadows in the painted of the macaw, they were already secondary shadows in a quite low opacity to give volume in certain parts of the drawing and this way to obtain a more realistic aspect.

Por ultimo empece a colocar brillos dispersos por todas las plumas ademas de ir colocando las sombras en el pintado de la guacamaya, eran sombras ya secundarias en una opacidad bastante baja para dar volumen en ciertas partes del dibujo y asi conseguir un aspecto mas realista.

Then I placed glitters all over the drawing, to assimilate small sparks of fire coming out of the fenix macaw.

Después coloque brillos por todo el dibujo, para asimilar pequeñas chispas de fuego saliendo de la guacamaya fenix.
