The Golden Years Gate (En/ Es)

These days, reading about the fears we have and manage in our lives, I came across the post of a friend hiver @zupasteleria, where she exposed her fear of not being self-sufficient, a consequence that we have as we get older and left me reflecting on it. Many of us have different fears throughout our lives, but this one in particular, at least personally, I had not stopped to glimpse it, so straight on, and as I began to reflect on it, I began to see myself in that picture, because I am already reaching the line of "older adults", I am as they say at the gates, in my country from 50, you are already a big person, you are already right at the entrance of this reality.

And it seems that when we step on the 50 years, all the physical and emotional discomfort that you can experience is unleashed, generally this goes hand in hand with menopause in the case of women and all that this brings with it, from the vapors, mood swings, joint pain, fatigue, insomnia and other symptoms, that some give us stronger than others, as some are not affected at all, they are blessed ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. In my personal case, I have experienced all these symptoms, thank God they have been diminishing; but I have noticed my absent-mindedness with some objects. There are days when they become more acute, I talk about keys, telephones, agenda, in short, and that leads me to remember the advice of my neurologist, to improve this and other symptoms that come with menopause and age.

The main recommendation is to keep those neurons active; how to do it, practice strategy games such as chess, sit down to solve your word search puzzles, although they may seem like simple games, they help you to stay active in a very effective way, it is also great to start singing, just as you read it, play your favorite music and if it is of old date much better, because it helps you to remember the lyrics of those songs that maybe you had some time without hearing or singing. This keeps those neurons fresh as a lettuce and gives movement to that memory. Keeping that fear of having a mentally degenerative disease away from you, that helps you stay sharp. Also, one of the things that keeps you mentally active is reading, painting, doing manual work, writing; simply creating, no matter how old you are, feeling useful, strong, lucid, generates a lot of wellbeing.

Now, on the physical side, the first thing to do is to go to your doctor and have him check you and tell you according to your physical condition. What you should do and, if it is to send you, vitamin treatment or something specific to maintain your optimal physical condition, it helps you to complement everything else. You should take your issues that contribute to maintain energy and vitality in your body. The second thing is to do exercises that generate and maintain muscle mass, push-ups, stretching exercises and exercises where you give mobility to the joints are very good, that helps you a lot, I testify, before going for a walk it is preferable to stretch well, warm up and then do your daily work, I assure you will feel much better, even in a better mood, besides keeping your muscles stronger, generating more agility, what more can you ask for, ha, ha, ha, ha.

Another thing, eat as healthy as you can and live one day at a time, without worrying so much about tomorrow, because each day has its own struggle. You have to take things calmly, friends, what you can do you do and what you can't, let go and put in God's hands. Try to be with people who are light in your days, who activate and encourage you to be better and thus enter the door of the golden years, with dignity, in shape and with the best attitude, with the ability to continue, but at your own pace, my best regards to all!

I remember with my mother and grandparents talking about menopause was never done. Now though it is discussed as well as perimenopause. I know when we hit 50 there seem to be things we take to stop certain things, but we should also be aware of what our bodies are telling us.
Thanks for posting in Silver Bloggers and here is to a wonderful weekend.

That's right, in times past there was little talk about menopause, it was simply said that one was already big or old and ready, but everything else was left aside and now that you tell me at home they didn't talk about menopause as such either.. Today yes, fortunately. It was a pleasure to visit you🎉👋

Hi Ed (@Tengolotodo), I have a conundrum with this, as my medical aid stopped my Menopause benefit when I turned 70. So my question to them is, what is the stage after menopause? They can't answer that, just crazy! 🙈

Reaching 50 is a wonderful age, you tend to know what you want, where you wish to be in the next ten years, always healthy and happy, makes the changes we go through a lot easier.

Exact! It is no longer an age to hesitate or waste time, since we generally already know what we want and where we are going. It's the wonderful thing about reaching 50. Thank you for your kind visit💖

I do believe those aches and pains and the absent-mindedness can likely be avoided if we stick to a healthy way of living, as you suggested here, but I for one often fail at that.
We, as women, go through so much more than our menfolk, I don't they they would survive;)
Excellent advice @brujita18

You have to persevere, get on it is not easy, that is very true. But once you understand that you are better, you do it only your body asks for it and so does your mind. Thank you for such a nice comment, greetings🌞
