All Hail The King!

Well, who doesn’t like animals? They are one of God’s cutest creations and many of them happen to possess qualities that we humans look to have. Some animals are known for one major character and others are known for multiple.

For instance, a lion is known to be brave and to be the King. A fox is known to be sly and the tortoise though slow is known to be really cunning and can outsmart every animal in the kingdom that is bigger and stronger than it. There are just so many animals in the world, I am sure that there are some that were never discovered and some that are still in existence but are yet to be discovered. Well, for the ones I do know about, if I am to pick one of them to turn into what will it be?

My first choice would be a werewolf. I’ve always loved werewolves and I just gobble up their stories. I love the whole Alpha thingamajiggy and how the full moon is one of the most important nights for them. Of course, the only part I would not enjoy is the transformation.

That really hurts because the human bones changes and shifts so they will take the form of an animal. It’s always a painful process, but then it gets better with time. The more often you change, the easier the pain is to bear. Until you no longer feel it anymore. Not that it goes away, you just don’t feel it anymore.

Another thing I love about werewolves is their sense of smell. They have a very powerful sense of smell, no matter how faint they will sniff it out and recognize it. They also have heightened hearing and 20/20 vision. And let’s not even mention how they are stronger than your average human. So yeah, I would very much like to be a werewolf, thanks for asking.

But then, werewolves are not real, are they? They are just fictitious creatures from the most imaginative minds. The question is to pick a real animal that I can be. And when I do think about it, I can only pick one. One that I believe is just like me, and one that I am sure I can relate to.

And that is a lion.

A lion is a king and a go-getter. It’s not just brave, it takes charge. And when it walks into the room, its presence is felt. When it speaks, its voice is heard. And when it roars, the very earth trembles.

Nothing stops a lion short of being dead. When you are a lion, you are not scared of predators or prey, you protect your own with everything you have and you make sure that your territory is not soiled by others. A lion looks to make his mark and dominate, just like a king. And that is what I find so attractive about the animal.

So, if I were to pick an animal to become, it would definitely be the lion. This is even apart from all the stories we were told about the King of the jungle while growing up, it has nothing to do with all that. Instead, it is about who the lion is for real, what it does, and how it is able to command the jungle.

This life is no different from the jungle, just that we follow a saner set of rules here. But still, it is not impossible to lead the charge and dominate. And the beauty of it all is that there is room for everyone to be a King. Because in the grand scheme of things, one person’s kingship is not going to affect that of someone else.

So, we all are encouraged to find the lion within us. We should go forth and dominate, surge forward, and conquer. The world is out there, waiting to feel our prowess and our display of courage, bravery, and might.

That is who we are.
