My Daily Hair Battle...

The first semester is now a thing of the past, the second semester is now knocking on the doors and urging we the students to start getting ready. Not just mentally, but physically and financially as well. You know just how draining education can be; because you want to learn something you’ll go broke, go hungry and lose weight.

Still, we’re going to keep going back, no matter how terrible the system treats us. We’re doing it all for the paper, right? And we’ve come so far and paid so much for us to quit it halfway. So, we just keep doing our thing and make sure that when the new semester does roll by, we’re as ready as can be for it.

With this new semester, one of the biggest pressures I feel is my hair. I’m the kind of person that’s very lazy when it comes to matters of my hair. It grows way too fast for my liking and it’s very annoying. A close friend of mine goes to the barber’s shop once every two weeks, and I envy him for his consistency. For me, I can stay for two whole months without going to the barber’s shop. By then, it’ll be bushy and I’ll look like I’m wearing an afro wig.

And not like I even have plans for the hair or anything, other than hair cream, I don’t apply anything else. Sometimes, I even forget to apply the hair cream so the hair will end up looking hungry and starved. Yeah… I didn’t really care. Hehe…😂

2dk2RRM2dZ8gKjXsrozapsD83FxL3Xbyyi5LFttAhrXxr16mCe4arfLHA37mQtCuynkak9C9VAxm3nacdB7gLmLiZLuYVhHeNsRgxL6WKJoam3hs2B7ZLAp2jwaLFEwoAbLKzAfpv2DhtyvHbJunTbU58RMbxtkvefNK4qj8EA.png

Someone once suggested I make my hair, at least that way I can keep it and also look good at the same time. But come on, I’m already finding it hard to go on a 30-minute trip at the barber’s shop. How do you think I can afford the hours I’ll spend at the hairdressers? And then, I’ve seen the quadratic equations and calculus that goes into taking care of the hair, from relaxers to shampoos and a bunch of things I don’t even know their names. I have enough women in my life to let me know that going that route is stressful to the core.

I also thought about turning my hair into dreads, but I realized I still had to treat it and this would not just be your simple hair cream anymore. Tinting was an option as well, but I immediately dyed my hair back to black the moment I tried it. I didn’t like the look it gave me one bit.

So, you see what I’m going through? I don’t even know what I want! I don’t like lowcut, and I don’t have a particular hairstyle I’ve gotten used to. Every time I go to the barber’s shop, I do a different style depending on what strikes me at that moment. And whether it goes well or not, in two weeks it won’t matter because it would be due for another cutting. But none of that matters to me.

I’ll keep going without a care until the hair grows to the point that my comb can’t go through it any longer even when it’s wet. And then, one day, I’ll take a sneak peek at my mirror and boo!! My reflection will give me a fright, and I’ll realize then I really need to see the barber. That’s when I’ll finally push myself grudgingly to get a haircut.

2dk2RRM2dZ8gKjXsrozapsD83FxL3Xbyyi5LFttAhrXxr16mCe4arfLHA37mQtCuynkak9C9VAxm3nacdB7gLmLiZLuYVhHeNsRgxL6WKJoam3hs2B7ZLAp2jwaLFEwoAbLKzAfpv2DhtyvHbJunTbU58RMbxtkvefNK4qj8EA.png

Honestly, I really don’t know what to do. Because for me, as long as I can comb it neatly and pat it down later on, I’m good. But my hair is stubborn, fifteen minutes after I comb it and a little air gets in, it starts tangling up yet again and making me look like something I don’t know.

Pfff…😥 I have so many reasons to be a regular customer at the barber’s shop, but this laziness will not let me. What do you think I can do about it? If you have a one-time deal that can take care of my hair for months at a time, please let me know. And it must not include going bald biko… that’s not an option at all.

And now, as school is resuming, it’s beginning to look like I’ll go in there with last semester’s hair. I don’t like it, but even to do anything about it just weakens my body and soul. After all, no one will come and beat me.

Well, we’ll see how it goes. Maybe I’ll finally get the motivation to cut it, if not, we’ll resume school together like that. Let’s be honest, what’s on the head is nothing compared to what’s in the head.

Make I use that one hold body for today.🤗^

Aside from maintaining your haircut, so much hassle, the money you have to spend too on it is a big deduction for the budget. But if you know how to cut your hair then theres no problem no? Lol.

Here in our place some of the school is already starting.

Well... that might be an idea, but it would be a bit hard to style it yourself, especially reaching the back. It's best when a professional does it for you. But that's what makes it so hard.😅

Yeah, I know what your saying, but there are people who can do that. As in, it's amazing how can they easily do it. Lol

You better go and do something about your hair and look like a responsible man in the presence of those girls when you resume 🤣
Seriously, this is what I go through too. I have long hair and going to the salon to make my hair kind of sucks. I only make a big style once in how many months I can´t even say.... Laziness is part of it and this is what I do: I get a hairstylist to come do home service for me and when she comes around, I won´t have a choice but to sit and get it done. Maybe that is what you should do too. Get a permanent barber to give you home service, when you call, he comes around instead of going to the salon when laziness strikes. It is important we take care of our hair, and as we believe it to be, when we do that, it means we are making our creator happy.

So, find a barber to come over and get it done to a nice style you want.

Omo... this home service thing... Yahoo Boys have spoilt things for us biko, some barbers can charged as much as 2k-5k just for home service. Depending on where they're coming from. Hair that I'll easily cut for #500 and they'll want all that extra money. Not yet.
I guess I'll have to keep on trying my best. What else is there to do. After all, I have to look good, aii?

Bruno, common spend this money na 🤣🤣🤣
You are also right. Maybe it's because of the area I am here. They don't charge much for home service as it's so cheap. But in other places, they feel you have the money when you decide on home service, hence the billing. Just try your best, you hear? Lol

I think we have more than just one thing in common. I wish I could show you my picture right now, my hair is full and my beard is finding its way into my mouth already but visiting the barber shop is one of the things I find very stressful.

I go two months without a haircut and sometimes, my woman will come around to walk me down there. I know how you feel and cutting is better than playing because that will take more time and from making dreads, relocking the hair takes time and the treatments aren't cheap.

I thought I was the only one who struggles with my hair.
I have to keep my hair in braids all the time because it's extremely hard and difficult to comb

I think a day should be set aside, where everyone would work on their hair. Maybe then, people like us will finally be able to get somethings done.

Omoo, that losing weight part eh. School dealt with me on that part. Just recently I'm getting myself oo.

Afro wig🤣🤣🤣, that's hilarious.

And it must not include going bald biko… that’s not an option at all.

Hahaha, I had this in mind until I read to that point. Don't mind me, I think checking out from the different hairstyles you have been cutting would be the best way to know the one that fits you perfectly and give you that handsome guy look.

Then, having a personal barber that accepts home services would help, you wouldn't have to leave the house but only call, he doesn't even have to come with his tools if you have your rechargable clipper.

I don't think there's a hairstyle I've not done. After I do one, to try it again will just be boring and I'll start the rigorous exercise of figuring out the next. It's tiring.

Hehe. I found some similarities between you and me. I also feel very lazy to go in barber’s shop to cut hair and at least I also take 2 month like you to visit barber’s shop.
But in case of haircut, I try to keep it descent and simple as much as I can.

Yeah... I keep mine decent as well. Because complex is just so much work. And that is something I'm not up for in any way!

LoL!! I have just been laughing while reading through, because I am seeing my self directly in what you are saying. Well, there are somethings that we don't just have a choice but just execute them whether we like it or not and I think for you, hair cut is one of them.

May be you should just have your time table for hair cut, maybe once in two weeks or three week or even a month. Sometimes mine goes a month and gosh!! Let me not say anything 🤣🤣🤣 but just get a time table and start practicing.. well dressed hair adds beauty to ones appearance . It's true that what's on the head is not as important as what is in the head but what's in the head should not be kept in an untidy environment please.

Bro, you really don't like your hair, I was laughing and shaking my head while reading this. I understand that sometimes, it is hard to just make decision about our hair even though we don't make hair like ladies.

I use cap whenever my hair is full and I'm not ready to cut the hair. I used to cut my hair every two weeks but now, I bless God😅
