As a content creator, one of the worst things you can experience is wanting to create content but not knowing what to create on. This can be very frustrating because you could be very much ready to do it, but then your mind will be blank and you’ll have no idea what to write.

It doesn’t matter what your preferred niche is, eventually, you’d run out of all the obvious ideas, and in the long run, you’d have to be original and think of a few unique things yourself. At one time or the other, it’ll eventually come to that. How you handle those periods will determine just what kind of a creator that you are.

Are you the kind that is ever prepared? No matter how things are, you’ll always have an idea down on what to create, or are you the kind of person who simply wings it? You write about whatever catches your fancy in that moment you’re looking to write. Acts like this are what increase the rates of writer's block you have. At that moment you want to write, you start thinking all over the place and more often than not, it never works out as you want.

But then, it doesn’t have to be so. As a creator, there are ways to make sure that no matter what, you never run out of ideas, and even if you want to make a different post for every single day of the year, there will always be something to write about. And these ideas come through inspiration. We can be inspired at any time at all, it could be when we’re having important discussions with family and friends, or when we’re scrolling social media and just relaxing, we get a good idea for a post.

The thing is, many of us simply think of this and shelf it somewhere at the back of our minds. Sadly, that’s wrong because our brains are not computers, we’d definitely forget the ideas, no matter how good they are. Finding a good way to save these ideas is something every creator must have.

On Your Phone

IMG_20230531_232617.jpg

You can save your ideas on your phone, the moment they come across your mind. Once you realize they’re worthy of being a post, you simply write it down on your phone and save it. For me, I have a special group for me alone on WhatsApp where I drop my ideas. Depending on what I’m doing at the moment, I could write a simple word or phrase, something I’m sure that the moment I read it, I'll be reminded of the idea at once.

If I have the time, I could write a paragraph, detailing more about the idea. This would give me more data to create the post when I’m ready for it.

Another app to use for this is the Google Keepnotes. Here, you can store all your ideas, no matter how much they are. You can even set up a system where you have a post for every day of a month and as you write on them, you tick them off in the app. I also use this, and it makes sure that no matter where I am and what I’m doing, I’ll always be able to jot something down.

In My Book

Nah… I won’t always be able to jot things down on my phone. This is why I have a special book for it. Although, I use books mainly for story ideas. I love writing with a pen when I’m building my worlds, and the inspiration just flows easier when I do it in books.

When I drop the ideas in books, I can’t just write a single word. I’ll always end up writing more, it’s like getting possessed and next thing I know, I’ve got pages full. The only downside about this is that you can’t use it anywhere. You have to take the book everywhere you go and that’s just not acceptable. And even when you’re home, it’s not every time that you’ll be able to sit down and write on the whim. With a phone, that’s easier.

In Conclusion

IMG_20230909_0905432.jpg

No one can decide when to get inspired, it comes at us at the oddest of times and when we’re unprepared. That moment you think you’re ready to be inspired, nothing will come to you. But as you’re going about your daily life, chatting and gisting, watching movies and just chilling, it’ll suddenly hit you. If you don’t grab it with open arms in that moment, it’ll be gone from your memory and there’s nothing you can do to get it back.

You can get inspired anywhere, in the bathroom, on the bus, in the church, even in the wee hours of morning when you suddenly wake up. No matter the time nor place, you must be ready to cease the idea and make it yours. And also, never get tired of writing your ideas down. On some days, it’ll be like you’re the king of ideas, you can have different ideas popping up, and write them all down. Because there will be days when you won’t be able to think of even one idea.

Creating content isn’t easy, but then knowing what to create shouldn’t be the problem we’d be facing in this age and time.

I aim never to be without a note book. You never can tell when a little inspiration will hit you and, as you say, trying to rely on remembering it until some time later when you can write it down rarely works. Only problem now is that I have 7 or 8 note books on the go at once! Still, better that than risk losing an idea.

Yeah... that tends to happen. Some idea you write down will never even be used because ideas will always keep coming. But it feels good to know they're always there, in case they ever come in handy.

Any little inspiration we get or anything we think of, it is always important to put them down somewhere. There were times when I was thinking that I would always remember but at the end of the day, I didn’t do it is always better to put them down as you have said

That's how this job is, it's not easy. It's not easy to post daily. It takes three hours to write a thousand words and it takes a lot of hard work. And then the saddest thing is when a person works so hard. If it does, the big wells here are not placed on top of your post, then one's heart breaks.
