No Peace For the Jobless!!!

One of the worst things I’ve noticed about modern job hunting is how corporations have monetized it. And not just corporations and companies, but even individuals, looking to make a quick buck. And it’s just disheartening that many of these guys are looking to make money off jobless people, and not necessarily help them secure a job. Like, how fair is that?

The more I think about it, the more furious it makes me. Because why are we even in this place to begin with? Why is this even a topic of conversation? Well, in the long run, it’s up to us if real change is ever gonna be gotten because, however we look at it, things will either work out for us, or go up in smoke!

Now, what exactly am I talking about? It’s nothing but how companies have decided to tax people who are looking for jobs. There was a time when sites like Upwork were free, you could use them, and when you got clients, Upwork got a cut out of your earnings. That was a system that worked very well, everyone was happy. Until they introduced the use of Connects, and now, without Connects, you can’t send in proposals or apply for a job! And the Connects have to be bought!

Like, how is this fair? You pay for the Connects, but there’s no guarantee that you will even get the job. And when you do get it, you still have to give them a cut of your earnings. And so, whether you have a job or not, the company is earning money. Both those searching for jobs and those who have already gotten them. Everyone pays.

When we bring it down to our local job agents, it’s no different. In the past, you didn’t need any registration fee. Once you registered with them, and they got you the job, they simply took a cut out of your first salary. That was all! But now, things have changed so much! You have to pay a registration fee just for them to take you seriously. Someone who has no money and is desperately in search of a job would first have to get into debt just because he’s trying to get employed.

The more you think about it, the crazier it seems. But then it’s really happening! We see it all around us. And these corporations claim to care, but they don’t. They simply want your money, and they want as much of it as they possibly can, while doing as little work as possible. They package it in different names, some even call it premium, but in the end, you could pay all their money and still be no better off than you were before you paid the money. Like, why do I have to pay for something if I’m not sure it’ll get me what I want?

Well, it is what it is. That’s just the fact here, being a job seeker really has its perks, and the more you go for it, the more the system will whine you. But don’t panic. Just be stubborn and dogged, because eventually, you’re gonna get what you want. That is something that’s a fact!
