Malón

This is a huge painting that I did especially for an exhibition that dealt with a story / s: El malón.

"The malón was an offensive military tactic used by the indigenous people of South America, as well as by the Mapuche and Charruas ethnic groups in the current territories of Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, which consisted of the rapid and surprise attack of a large group of warriors on horseback against a Enemy group, they were other indigenous peoples or partialities, or populations, fortifications and ranches of the Creoles, with the aim of killing adversaries and looting to get livestock, supplies and prisoners, especially young women and children."
