Probably not only South Bohemia is covered in snow. That's why today instead of a trip I chose just a short walk around the most famous South Bohemian monument.
To make it a little more interesting, I went for a walk in the evening. I was surprised that even in the freezing weather and in the evening, there were quite a few people in the castle garden. It took me a lot of work to find a place to take photos so that the photos only show the castle without people :-).
The original castle of the Vítek family was rebuilt several times. The castle got its present form, in the style of Tudor Gothic, through reconstruction in the years 1840 - 1871. The model for this reconstruction was the English castle of Windsor.
The castle has also "played" several times in movie fairy tales. The most famous fairy tale is probably the Proud Princess.

Asi nejen jižní Čechy jsou zasypané sněhem. Proto jsem dnes místo výletu zvolil jen krátkou procházku kolem nejznámější jihočeské památky.
Aby to bylo trochu zajímavější, vydal jsem se na procházku večer. Byl jsem překvapen, že i v mrazivém počasí a večerní době, bylo v zámecké zahradě docela dost lidí. Dalo mi dost práce najít místo na focení tak, aby byl na fotkách jen zámek bez lidí :-).
Původní hrad rodu Vítkovců byl několikrát přestavován. Dnešní podobu, ve stylu tudorovské gotiky, dostal zámek přestavbou v letech 1840 – 1871. Předlohou pro tuto přestavbu byl anglický zámek Windsor.
Zámek si několikrát „zahrál“ i ve filmových pohádkách. Tou nejznámější pohádkou je asi Pyšná princezna.
