Happy weekend Splinterlands community and winters! I welcome you to my post dedicated to the Battle mage secrets event and which on this occasion tests us with one of the rules that in my opinion is one of the most fun that the game has: close range.

🏹 Close range
Esta ruleset nos propone que todos aquellos monstruos con ataques rango ahora tienen la posibilidad de atacar desde la primera posición.
This ruleset proposes that all those monsters with ranged attacks now have the possibility of attacking from the first position.
Normally units with ranged attacks cannot attack from the first position unless they have the particular close range ability, there are very good ranged units in each element and having the possibility of attacking from the first position is a great advantage.
Normalmente las unidades con ataques rango no pueden atacar desde la primera posición a menos que tenga la habilidad particular close range, existen muy buenas unidades rango en cada elemento y que tengan la posibilidad de atacar desde la primera posición es una gran ventaja.

Although a card with range attack in the first position is a great advantage, having a card with combined attack or better yet a card with combined attack and the double strike ability we would be talking about a card that can dictate the outcome of a battle directly, These are the cases of exceptional cards like War Chaang and The Vigitator that could execute up to 4 attacks with this ruleset.
Si bien una carta con ataque rango en la primera posición es una gran ventaja, tener una carta con ataque combinado o mejor aún una carta con ataque combinado y la habilidad double strike estaríamos hablando de una carta que puede dictar el resultado de una batalla directamente, estos son los casos de cartas excepcionales como War Chaang y The Vigitator que podría ejecutar hasta 4 ataques con esta ruleset.
Las ventajas que ofrecen estas cartas son notables y en este post quiero compartirte una alineación aprovechando este tipo de cartas y así evaluar su potencial como posibles cartas de vanguardia o primera posición. Comencemos!

🎏⚔️Rules battle/Reglas de batalla
In this battle the mana limit is 41 while the elements that we can choose are: fire, water and earth. Of the 3 elements, the fire and water class are the ones that have the best range units, our choice for this battle will be the water splinter. Let's see below what the rulesets are:
En esta batalla el límite de mana es de 41 mientras que los elementos que podremos escoger son: fuego, agua y tierra. De los 3 elementos la clase fuego y agua son los que tienen las mejores unidades rango, nuestra elección para esta batalla será el splinter de agua. Veamos a continuación cuáles son las rulesets:

🧙♂️Summoner/Invocador: Lir deepswimmer
As only range units can be used in this battle, we will use Lir deepswimmer as the summoner, not only will he return all the range damage that our units receive but he will also give them 2 defense points and increase the evasion rate of our monsters, blinding the enemy.
Como en esta batalla solo podrán utilizarse unidades rango usaremos a Lir deepswimmer como invocador, no solo devolvera todo el daño rango que reciban nuestras unidades sino que además les conferirá 2 puntos de defensa y aumentará la tasa de evasión de nuestros monstruos cegando al enemigo.
👾 Monsters/Monstruos: Wave brood
The ideal tank for this battle, beyond its taunt ability that would make it a decoy, is its enormous amount of life. Currently I have this card at level 4, I am thinking of taking it to level 5 to turn it into a damage sponge.

El tanque ideal para esta batalla, más allá de su habilidad taunt que lo convertiría en un señuelo es su enorme cantidad de vida actualmente tengo esta carta en nivel 4, estoy pensando en llevarlo a nivel 5 para convertirlo en una esponja de daño.
👾 Drybone raider
Our second important card is Drybone raider. I was fortunate enough to get this golden card and it is simply perfect for these battles. Its melee attack + range combined with the double strike ability make this card fearsome. We will place this card in second position in this way when wavebrood falls and the enemy lineup will be weakened just for Drybone to finish them off.
Nuestra segunda carta importante es Drybone raider tuve la fortuna de conseguir esta carta dorada y es simplemente perfecta para estas batallas su ataque melé + rango combinado con la habilidad double strike hacen temible a esta carta, ubicaremos esta carta en la segunda posición de esta manera cuando wavebrood caiga ya la alineación enemiga estará debilitada justo para que Drybone los remate.
👾 Crustacean king
It was one of the first alpha cards I was able to acquire, with the luck of getting it at level 3! Its tank heal ability will allow us to keep Wavebrood standing for as long as possible while weakening our opponent's secondary row.
Fue de las primeras cartas alfa que pude adquirir, con la suerte de conseguirla en nivel 3! Su habilidad tank heal nos va a permitir mantener de píe a Wavebrood la mayor parte de tiempo posible mientras debilitamos la fila secundaria de nuestro oponente.
👾 Axemaster
Axemaster is another card with great damage and that also has the double strike ability, we are going to protect this card by placing it in the fourth position.
Axemaster es otra carta con gran daño y que también tine la habilidad double strike, esta carta si la vamos a resguardar ubicándola en la cuarta posición.
👾 Venari bonesmith
Last but not least we will use Naga windmaster to reduce the damage of enemy units, although I have her at level 1 it is enough to limit the damage our opponent can do.
Por último pero no menos importante usaremos a Naga windmaster para reducir el daño de las unidades enemigas, aunque la tengo en nivel 1 es suficiente para limitar el daño que pueda hacer nuestro oponente.
⚔️Strategy and battle lineup/Estrategia y alineación de batalla
With our lineup prepared, we send the battle and we can see that our opponent's strategy was also with the water class but using Kelya frendul. If we are able to knock down his Wavebrood in the second row and we must be careful with the Gobson bormer and his recharge attack.
Con nuestra alineación preparada, enviamos la batalla y podemos observar que la estrategia de nuestro oponente también fue con la clase agua pero usando Kelya frendul, Si somos capaces de derribar a su Wavebrood en la segunda fila y debemos tenener cuidado con el Gobson bormer y su ataque con recarga.

💥Round 1💥
In the first round we barely weaken the health of the enemy Wavebrood, however our tank remains with its health intact.
En el primer round apenas vamos debilitando la salud del Wavebrood enemigos, sin embargo nuestro tanque se mantiene con su vida intacta.
💥Round 2💥
It is in the second rpund where we eliminate the enemy Wavebrood and take the initiative of the combat, it was a good idea to bring the healer and the Naga windmaster because they have kept our tank standing in the first position.
Es en el segundo rpund donde eliminamos al Wavebrood enemigo y tomamos la iniciativa del combate, fue una buena idea llevar el sanador y la Naga windmaster porque han mantenido de pie nuestro tanque en la primera posición.
💥Round 3💥
Para el tercer round nuestro tanque cae finalmente para dar paso al Drybone raider mientras el Axemaster elimina al Angelic mandarin, esto deja a nuestro oponente con 4 cartas ofensivas.
For the third round our tank finally falls to give way to the Drybone raider while the Axemaster eliminates the Angelic mandarin, this leaves our opponent with 4 offensive cards.
💥Round 4 & 5💥
With the start of the 4th round a weakened Medhampir is finally eliminated by Drybone raider who also ends up dispatching Swamp spitter in the 5th and final round leaving Gobsom bomber as the only remaining unit and is eliminated by the combined attack of Naga and Crustacean king finally achieving victory.
Con el inicio del 4to round un debilitado Medhampir es finalmente eliminado por Drybone raider que además termina despachando también a Swamp spitter en el 5to y último round dejando a Gobsom bomber como la única unidad restante y es eliminado por el ataque combinado de Naga y Crustacean king alcanzando finalmente la victoria.
💧Conclusions/Conclusiones
Close range is a battle condition that offers a great advantage if you have cards that combine melee and range attacks, in this battle that I shared Drybone raider was able to make 4 attacks in a single turn! For this reason it is one of my mandatory cards in rulesets like close range or mayhem melee.
Naga and Crustacean king are cards that are at a very low level for the gold league but can still be useful if you have a complete understanding of the battlefield, they are cards that I always keep for these cases in the wild format.
Como mencioné anteriormente esta fue una batalla singular ya que hacía muy difícil utilizar unidades que aprovechara correctamente la habilidad bloodlust y sin la posibilidad de usar mártires, la única opción bajo estas condiciones fue utilizar las habilidades armor void, reflect shield, amplify y poison.
Naga y Crustacean king son cartas que están en un nivel muy bajo para la liga de oro pero que aun así pueden ser útiles si se tiene una comprensión total del campo de batalla, son cartas que siempre conserve para estos casos en el formato wild.
