A Silver Mystery Solved with AI
I've always wanted one of these rounds. They have a great design and the proof-like finish contrasting with the sun's rays in the design is fantastic. The only problem is nobody seems to know who made these. They're not currently being made, but best guesses seem to indicate they came from a private mint in the Pacific Northwest.

Thanks to some help from AI, it traced back the image to this post. Some people bought these from a business called "Local Coin Company" in Tualatin, OR: https://localcoinco.com/
The only problem is they don't appear to sell them anymore as far as I can tell from their limited web presence. Completed ebay sales show this going for $160 on the low end. It's a sweet round, but I can't justify paying almost a $100 premium for one ounce of silver. I guess I'll have to look for something else on the wishlist instead. Oh well. Such is the life of a stacker. 😆

Those are beautiful, but that $100 premium is just too rich for my blood. I've never run across one in a shop before, so they can't be very common.

I get that feeling when you spot a beautiful round and and wonder if it’s worth the premium. The $160 price tag feels steep; especially when you’re watching the market daily and trying to keep the books balanced. Looks like the mint vanished as quickly as my spreadsheets did.. maybe it’ll pop up in another catalog someday :)

The quality of this strike is very impressive for a small independent outfit only to disappear not long after this was minted. Goes to prove that there are same unique rarities we may not know about floating out there.
