Cheap Shower Curtain Rod Screws
My wife and I decided to install a permanent shower curtain rod in the guest bathroom. We had one held up by tension, but our two boys tend to accidentally back into the curtain, which pulls it and the rod down.

The new one looks pretty good, right? Wait until you look underneath. The screws from the manufacturer were absolute garbage. Two stripped out completely. I had to use a Dremel to cut one so I could use a flathead to back it out.

This one actually held, so I just went with it but you can see it was on its way out.

I had to replace the top one with a deck screw so it could actually bite into the wall stud.
Fortunately, from the outside it doesn't look like the shower curtain rod from Hell and looks nice.

The whole thing was a huge hassle. I'm sure they figure most people will go the easy way and use drywall anchors, so they use cheap screws. Leason learned. Next time I need to have backup screws I trust will work well.
