Pokémon Cards - Forever Sold Out

When I was a kid, it used to be you could buy packs of Pokémon cards at pretty much any retail store without issue. It's been a long time since then, and things have changed. Now, we have vending machines for Pokémon packs, decks, etc.

I thought it might be cool to get a few packs while I was out running errands and have my two boys open them for fun. There's only one problem. You click the "Touch to Start" button and you're greeted with a wall of "Out of Stock" pictures.

I was talking with my wife, and she'd been talking with other parents at her wori. Apparently, there's an entire segment of unemployed, middle-aged men who do nothing but drive around and stalk stores and vending machines to buy up all of the products. They then turn around and sell the good cards and ruin the hobby for everyone else in the process.

How pathetic.

My kids have a binder full of Pokemon cards, it didn't last long. I don't think they've touched it for over ten years now. Everyone needs a hobby.

If they don't collect them or play with them anymore, it might be worth their time to look through them, price them and sell some to convert to metals. 😉
