Saving My Silver Cuban Bracelet

I'm what you'd call "cheap" and don't like to overpay for things. I do occasionally buy myself nice things, but try to avoid buying frivolous things that I'll never use and will just collect dust in a corner somewhere.

Some time ago I had purchased a Sterling silver Cuban link bracelet. I have been losing some weight lately, so the bracelet has been gradually becoming more and more loose over time. It ended up becoming slightly twisted, which caused the silver breakaway ring to become twisted and stuck. I wasn't able to get to it with pliers, so I ended up having to break the ring to remove it.

Fortunately, the rest of the bracelet survived. I looked at the clasp, and it had gotten to the point where it left a sizeable gap so that the end of the bracelet could easily slip out and drop free. Fortunately, replacement clasps are easy enough to find.

I found this Sterling silver clasp for $8 on Amazon. I liked that it was shorter than the original clasp, so it would reduce some of the slack in the bracelet.

The break away rings were unbelievably flimsy, so I removed those. I put just the clasp on and I'll take the risk it doesn't snag to the point I need to break it. If so, Sterling silver is still soft enough I'm confident I'll be able to break the clasp if needed.

The bracelet is all repaired and back in action! While a new bracelet would've been nice, this one is still great and it cost very little to put it back into action, and I much prefer that! Money I don't have to spend on other things is money I can put into more gold, silver and other investments on Hive. 😁

Absolutely! I also have an Italian rope chain as well. I have a Sterling spinner ring, but sadly it no longer fits. I may have to get another one in the near future.

The bracelet and your arm look very manly :)
Excuse the joke, if a woman puts on a bracelet, both the bracelet and her arm look beautiful, but if we men put on one it looks like this, the hair ones overshadow the bracelet a little hahahaha, but the bracelet is great, that has no discussion
