What Keeps You Delegating to Projects?
There are a lot of good reasons to delegate to projects. This can be for Hive-Engine tokens, liquid HIVE as a share of curation rewards, helping others, etc. The question that matters most is, "What keeps people delegating?"
(Created with Bing)
I'm still working on my token idea. The issue with delegations is once the main draw of delegating is gone, what is keeping people around?
A great example of this is the HELIOS project. The token supply has pretty much hit its limit, so nobody is earning more tokens, yet people continued to delegate. As soon as there was talk of eliminating HIVE payouts from curation rewards, suddenly those delegations disappeared in a hurry.
So it would seem that when the tokens dry up, the delegations stay if liquid HIVE is paid out from curation rewards. The next question would be what would is an ideal percentage payout range? Certainly 100% would be best, but in order for a project to grow it would have to be less than that in order to continue growing the HP over time.
So what is an ideal percentage range you'd want to see paid in liquid HIVE for delegating? Or am I wrong and there are other motivating factors I haven't considered?
I'd love to get your feedback in the comments!

Helios was paying around (18% APR weekly) on all HIVE delegations.
So to get my interest, it would need to be close to that payout (perhaps not every week) 😎
Just my honest opinion !ALIVE
That makes sense, although was that factoring in HELIOS token payouts or just what they were earning through curation?

HELIOS Token payouts stopped several weeks ago, but the weekly HIVE payout still seemed to continue fairly stable (ranging from around 15-18% APR).
In hindsight, I sold my HELIOS Tokens way too cheap, but that's crypto I guess. Very unpredictable indeed !LOL

Crazy how helios could give an apr over the hive apr lol! But probably they were using some hive engine trades and they had solana tokens that probably was part of the income to give to delegators… so yeah they couldnt promise the apr anymore

Yeah, higher than actual Hive APR is hard unless you're investing in LPs and other crypto outside of Hive.
I'm considering possibly a raffle for delegators in addition to liquid HIVE as a possible idea, but that all depends on what people consider to be worthwhile prizes.

If i am not mistaken some projects did some raffles in the past , what you thinking?
I was thinking of something like 1 HIVE per ticket and then offering the tokens in chunks. For instance, you need at least 10 PAKX to call a vote. 1000 PIMP is needed to tip someone else. Others with a higher threshhold like DUO would be smaller prizes so people can work their way up to it.
For me there are a few reasons I delegate & I don't fully understand all the numbers, I know that a lot of communities pay out 80% in liquid hive & often reward with their own token. However, if th percentage was lower it wouldn't stop me from supporting you.
I have followed you for quite some time and am looking foward to your community & token and will be delegating as soon as you're ready.
