Hive naija prompt: My niche on the hive platform

I was staring at my pc throughout yester night due to the fact that i have nothing to write about, even though so many topics crossed my mind but i just couldn't process where to start from and even this morning, i wasted 3 hours trying to write something yet nothing was coming forth, i think my fellows called it writer's block, but my own is accompanied with headache!

I was getting fed up of it and somehow like a flash i decided to go through all challenges i do participate in and i found the hive naija own inspiring and here i am writing about my niche!

Many people have their passion and what they blog about on the hive platform meanwhile some people do not have any niche, they just blog about anything as long as the money flows in, i am more into inspirational and love post, i can't run out of words when it comes to making post on this two and also i am a gamer and it is quite easy for me to write about the games i play..

If you go through my blog, you will notice that already that 60 percent of my post are inspirational and love stories while 30 percents are gaming post an the remaining 10 percent has stuffs to do with challenges i participate in..

Why do i like to blog about love?

I started writing poems about love some years ago even before the existence of steemit which was the old hive platform, it all started when i fell in love, there is nothing love can't do , i was a teacher then, i will just pick a paper and a pen and start jotting those words down, praising the one i am in love with and admiring her beauty and eyes, it becomes an addiction and things i have learnt right from when i was small because i used to watch a lot of india love movies also helped with word flows, so it was super easy for me to blog about love as it is all in my mind... So you can say being in love turn me to a poet

Motivational content

There are so many inspiring words to write about, i have been through alot and i have a lot of experience, it is easy for me to think about my past, twist some stuffs that makes it unrelated to me but still pass the message i want, i am also a good listener and people do tell me about their experience, i don't forget stories that touches the heart no matter how long, so those things are helping me when it comes to dropping motivational post..

Lastly i am a gamer and i play the splinterlands game more, been playing it since 2018 so i know the monsters and all i need to know about the game, it is kinda easy for me to write a post about it within few hours, i do write about other games too once in a while, games like rising star and axie but splinterlands top it...

Just call me Burl.

Good to know you love love and can pen down your thoughts. Like you pointed out about writer's block, even when you have found your niche, you still get stuck sometimes.

I found your post so interesting. Love is a beautiful thing even a man of few words can fill leaves with words because of love.

No matter how creative a man is there is always a place for searching for motivation just as you did this morning.

I also love the fact that you already have a niche and a place that feels that for you...i pray to find mine soon

Thank you for sharing.

You remind me of my younger years especially when I was in secondary education. I used to create poems and I was the favorite poet in the school, but somehow somewhere I lost that.

What I am passionate to write about are topics related to spirituality, economics, and financial technology. As for spirituality, I observe that both theological education and the Bible are not fashionable in our time. Economics is more of personal interest. I don't have any formal training in it, and it took me seven years of informal study to get familiar with it. Financial technology can be categorized as a subset of economics and I see both cryptocurrency and the Eurodollar as subsidiaries of financial technology, which are still very new to me, and that is why I am not that confident yet to write about these topics. A few months or perhaps a year or two from now, I expect that I will begin to absorb the ideas and lingo in this new field.

yea you are right, theological and bible are not fashionable anymore and crypto is winning, like you said within few more years you would have more knowledge on the topics and be able to write about it... i guess my niche may change as well the more i grow.. Can't tell yet though but change is constant as we grow older... thanks

That's true. Just recently, I got interested in content marketing because of @elianaicgomes' sharing. I find her recommended book very interesting. Not sure if I can find time to include that in my blog.

I just found your page and I am glad I did. Actually carving a niche us amazing. I have discovered that when you know where your strong point lies, it is easier for you to communicate better.

Thanks for sharing

Hi @burlarj

I'm one of these niche-less madmen who writes about everything here on hive. Although I've shied away from putting much of my fiction up for a few years in favor of pursuing mainstream publication for that... but I've written travel writing, cookery/food/recipe blogs, poetry (a lot of poetry) freewrites, life blogs, cryptocurrency news blogs, explanatory posts for new hive users, philosophical essays, political essays lol

The list goes on. To be honest, before communities came about I think it was a very good thing to find your niche and stick to it, but now if you have good writing amplitude you can write/blog on any subject and post to the appropriate community where it will be appreciated.

I don't think finding a niche matters half as much anymore. For me the only area of writing I shy away from is writing in the various tribes like LEO or CTP about their projects as I see the platform saturated with that type of content and honestly no one outside of hive would have a clue what any of it was talking about 😂 Also, project leaders can explain that stuff 100X better than I can.

You are so right about this, it really doesn't matter, most people just go with the flow and write what comes to their mind and as long as it is a beautiful piece of write up, it is all good...

My life experience is what has kept me going in hive, if not I found it so difficult to continue until I found a motherhood community where I could share my journey as a mother.
