My quest for freedom
Life is hard if you are lucky to have a roof over you, eat 3 square meals in a day, wear the clothes you like, and also be able to give out from the little you have, Be grateful...
Many people wish for this lifestyle, they don't want a car or luxurious lifestyle, they just want to be well fed but life is not fair to them, they have to struggle to feed themselves, so many huge debts to pay and have no peace of mind because they don't know how they will survive tomorrow...
Again, if you wake up and you decide this is what you want to eat and you can afford the money to buy it, you should really be very grateful, you are among the lucky ones...
This hive learners prompt really got me thinking, what is that thing I want or that thing that I do not have because I can't afford...
I can't afford so many things but there is one that I really desire, and it is no other thing but Freedom
A friend of mine working in the bank called me today and she was pouring out her emotions, she has 2 Pos shops but both are now locked due to lack of capital to continue...
I asked her the reason and she said family responsibilities weighed her down, she is sponsoring her sister in school and many other responsibilities that I don't want to mention...
During the discussion, I realized she would live fine without any money issues if it was just about taking care of herself but because of the responsibilities that are on her, she has been dragged down as well...
There is a saying: if one person is rich out of a family of 7, they are all poor because the rich one won't be able to invest as much as he/she wants nor can he go forward due to the responsibilities of the other 6...
The bond of family is stronger than you can imagine, you can never bear to watch them suffer or abandon them when they needed you the most, it comes with a lot of sacrifices, you will see a sister forsaking education for her brother, you will see a brother sacrificing his dreams to take care of his family and make them happy...
Happiness is when you earn well and can afford the lifestyle you want but joy is when your family can also live that lifestyle, when everyone is in a good position, you will all be moving with the speed of light and breaking records without one bothering the other for financial help.
This is the kind of freedom I want too, where all my family members are in good standing, that we all can inspire and elevate one another and none would be in financial crisis...
I desire this so much and I believe one day, it will happen...
I will get the freedom I so much desire, when my family is free, I will be free too, our fate is intertwined and whatever affects them, affect me too!

Freedom is a great blessing indeed. We should thank God who blessed us with a lifestyle that is much better from many millions of people. I hope, we all should be able to have a lifestyle that will be the same for both and our family. Enjoy freedom, I wish you the best of luck for good days ahead.

This is the kind of freedom I aspire to achieve too. There will always be something missing when you're free while the people around you are not. Much better when we're all free and move forward together or in different directions.
Yea my man, one can never be free if his people are not, you can’t be happy when you are eating pizza and your family are drinking garri, we gat to eat this pizza together without anyone bothering the other… their happiness automatically give us joy too

She is spending more than her income. Being a bread winner is not easy especially when there is no one to support you
yea, she is going through a lot, she is shouldering the responsibilities that are too much for her alone to bear... she has learned her lessons though and I also gave her my 2cent of advice, it is not compulsory you give them what they ask for, just give them to them what you are sure won't affect you much...

I can relate to your friend's situation because I am also facing the same situation. I can pass my time and save money if I only think about myself but I can't think like that because I believe that whatever I am it's because of my family and what is the meaning of money if I can't share it with my family. Without family, there is no happiness.
we really cant ignore them when they are in trouble, but also we need to become stronger in order to be able to elevate them too or else everyone will just remain stagnant if you keep using the little resources you have on your family
Yes, I want every member of my family to have financial freedom too. Unfortunately, your friend has to take a tough decision at this point. With her salary and two shops, she could not meet all the her family's financial needs. Now, the two shops are locked, making her situation worse.
She has to ignore some not-so-important financial responsibilities for now. She has to sacrifice some financial responsibilities for her to revive her shops. That way, income will begin to come from the shops. If she doesn't take some tough decisions now, she may end up in financial debt.
One thing she must remember is that if she dies (God forbids that) today, every member of her family will survive without her. That's why she has to ignore some financial responsibilities and divert the moneys to money-yielding ventures.
If it gets so bad that everyone has make do with only 2 meals per day, so be it. This is just a temporary measure. I hope you understand.
