The Fake Life Pandemic

Fake life is not a new thing. Social media has only made it more absurd.

Everyone seems rich online until you get to know them and realize they have nothing.

There was a lady who posted that her boyfriend had bought her a brand-new car as a birthday gift. The post made many ladies jealous, and some even criticized their own partners in the comments. Posts like that can make people question their relationships because they start wishing they had someone like the man in the story.

A few months later, it was discovered that there was no boyfriend and no birthday gift. The car wasn’t hers; she had simply taken pictures with someone else’s car. Whether the car belonged to her or not is her business, but the effect such posts can have on other people’s lives is undeniable.

Situations like this are common. Many people live fake lives online, wearing expensive clothes and jewelry, posing with luxury cars, and showing off lifestyles that aren’t really theirs.

There was even a man who recorded himself as if he were traveling on a flight while he was actually inside his room. He used simple tricks to convince people he was on an airplane.

The damage fake lifestyles have caused is something we shouldn’t ignore. Some people become dissatisfied with their partners because they believe they deserve someone better. Others begin to question their own lives and backgrounds after constantly seeing people online living what appears to be a luxurious lifestyle, and they struggle to afford three meals a day.

Is living a fake life a crime?

In my opinion, it is a No, not by itself.

Pretending to be richer than you are or creating a glamorous online image shouldn’t automatically be punishable by law. However, once deception is used to scam people, steal money, or commit fraud, that is a completely different matter.

The real solution is for people to stop measuring their lives against what they see on social media.

Most people don’t post the ugly parts of their lives. They only post the highlights. When you see someone traveling abroad, you don’t know the sacrifices they made to get there, the debt they may have taken on, or the struggles they faced after arriving. All you see is the destination, not the journey.

My advice to everyone is simple:

Be content with your progress. Don’t let someone else’s online life make you feel like you are failing. Things are not always as they appear. Your life may actually be better than theirs in ways you can’t see.

As long as your present is better than your past, be grateful and keep moving forward.

The only person you should compete with is the person you were yesterday.

We can't decide for others what and how they will represent them in front of others. As long as we are not influence by seeing them.

Yea right, it is their choice.. we can always make our own by making sure we don't let their lifestyle affect us.

I still don't understand why people live fake life for real, that's one attitude that irritates me.
I understand composure and not looking like our problem, but when it gets to claiming and lying just to get attention or impress others, I just get weak ...

It is definitely not without a reason and most time, the reason is meaningless

It's very important to understand the difference of real and reels. Everything on social media is not real and also not false so we have to use our minds.
