The Law Should Apply Equally to Everyone
There was a video I watched where I saw a food seller literally pouring sacks of refuse into a gutter during rainfall. Based on the person who recorded the video, it was not her first time doing that. She always waits until it is raining before disposing of her refuse.

We often complain about blocked drainage and flooded areas. The same set of people like this woman would come out to lament that the government is not doing anything, but it is not the government disposing of refuse and sewage into the gutters, which ends up blocking the drainage. So, the government is innocent in this, even though they also have a role to play, which is fighting against terrible people like the woman in the video I mentioned above.
That is not all. Traders and buyers also play a big role in drainage blockage. When you buy something on the street and after you finish eating it, you feel the right place to dump the waste is on the street, when it rains, it gets swept off the street into canals and other places. Sometimes, it becomes too much that it blocks the passage where it was discharged into the water channel.
When the water is blocked from flowing freely to its right channel cos of the refuse, it turns into a flood that destroys properties both outside and inside the home. Then, we are quick to put the blame on the government when it is our own doing.
Back to the Hive Learners prompt, the law should apply equally to everyone, regardless of whether the offender is an individual or a company. A company is supposed to face serious charges for polluting or littering the environment because its waste is even more and can damage the health of thousands of citizens. The government should enforce the law justly and not be biased when passing punishment to offenders.
A lot of the problems we are facing in this country are caused by citizens, either as individuals, groups, or organizations. It is people that are killing people. And those blaming the government are not entirely wrong.
The government is in charge of our welfare. They should be the ones to put law enforcers in place so that citizens will stop misbehaving and doing things that cause damage to other people's health. If the government keeps taking things lightly, people will keep doing it. But once severe punishment is put in place and one or a few people are punished, others will learn from it, comport themselves, and stop doing terrible things.
The world and the people is dying, and it is terrible people that caused this, they don't care about others health as long as they are benefiting from it...

I can recall about the heavy flooding that happened in my state.
As usual, people were blaming the government for it, meanwhile, the drainages are blocked by refuse. And it's the citizens that dump refuse in the gutters.
The cititzens should help the government to help them too.
Yea right, people are always so fast to condemn and criticize the government over their own wrong doings...

That's just the fact. We're the ones killing and harming ourselves just that those that are mainly trying to keep a safe healthy space will also end up suffering like those who doesn't care. When the government takes it so strong on all and not biased them I guess everyone will sit right
It is just crazy how every blame is shifted to the government when we are the one behind it, we need a strong law enforcement in our country like the UK that will make the citizens sit right

Funny enough, the reason why some people loves this present government is because it allows them to be lawless and corrupt without consequences. Remember that minister that a dead naked girl was found in his house, tinubu freed the man, and asked him to do. Just imagine if it was a functional country

Yeah. It goes far to block the water ways and that has caused a lot of problems im the society. I believe that we need to take this issue seriously so that we won't suffer as a result tomorrow. Thanks for sharing

Rightly said.. people underestimate the effect littering have, and they fail to understand that it affects us in the end, with flooding and so much more.
