The power of Empathy
Criminals are human and it is the situation of the country that turned some people into the beasts they are, most of them do it for the money.
Some people were born to be evil though, they derive joy from the pain of others so it will be hard to win over their hearts because they are heartless.
If I were to be kidnapped by people whose circumstances made them who they are, my last ticket to freedom is trying to win over their hearts and gain their empathy by talking about the one thing they also detest that led them into the life they are living.
I have heard stories about how people were spared by those trying to hurt them due to things they saw or heard.
One thing I know that can save me from them that would make them dump me within the next 25 minutes is how hard life is!
My short sad story:
Life is Hard
Where should I start from? Why would you kidnap your fellow brother who is suffering and struggling to survive the hardship of the economy when some bad people are looting the country's money and spending it the way they like not caring about the suffering of the masses.
If you kidnapped me to get a ransom, you would be getting none, I am an only child whose parents are old and retired. They depend on me to provide for their needs and also take care of them, let them reap the fruit of their labor, and do not cause them pains that could kill them because there is nothing left to live for if I am gone, there would be no one to take good care of them, It is an unbearable pain for a child to die before his parents.
I have a 2-year-old son without a mother, she did not die, she left the poor baby when he was six months old, she abandoned her child to marry a rich man who could take care of her and afford the luxurious lifestyle she wanted, I was left to take care of the little boy If I die now, my baby will become vulnerable to the cruelty of this world... Spare me and save 3 more lives.

If the kidnappers still have a conscience, they will dump me after hearing my sad stories, I am already going through a lot and they will only ease my pain by killing me but they would put my family in the worst pain, He who died has gone to rest and it is the living that bears the pain of the demise.
They have family too and they are probably doing the dirty work to take care of their family so they would know and understand my situation and set me free.

I think this prompt is indeed tough one. I think kidnapped hardly release anyone without money. At least I haven't seen anything like that in my 25 years. I don't know how is the situation of your country. Are kidnappers think about us?
Kidnappers are human too, I have heard of cases where they release those they kidnapped when no one turned up for them and in some cases, they wasted their life
