First of all, you start losing friends slowly without even realizing it. You no longer connect with the friends who made your past days memorable, not because you deliberately cut them off, but because adulthood comes with responsibilities that consume your time and attention.

You no longer crave sitting with friends just to play or have random conversations that lead nowhere. Instead, your mind is constantly occupied with one question: How do I make enough money to take care of myself and my family? Anything that doesn’t contribute to that goal begins to feel less important.

That is the power money has over our mental state. It can quietly push aside the hobbies, friendships, and simple joys we once cherished, replacing them with the constant pressure to survive.

Some people are fortunate enough not to carry that burden alone. Those with supportive parents have somewhere to turn when life becomes overwhelming. They can ask for help or even return home for a while, like the prodigal son, admitting they aren’t ready for the weight of adulthood.

But for those without parents, there is no safety net. They have no choice but to face adulthood head-on. Every challenge must be confronted alone. It becomes a battle of survival; either they overcome it, or they are overwhelmed by it.

It is even harder for those who have lost their parents and have become parents themselves. They are fighting two battles at once. They must find a way to survive while also making sure their children survive.

Sometimes the weight becomes so heavy that depression sets in, especially when they feel trapped with no help in sight. Yet many of them keep moving forward. They wake up every day, carry their burdens, and continue hoping that one day, just one day, life will finally smile on them.

To everyone silently carrying responsibilities that no one sees: keep going. Your struggle may not be visible, but your resilience is.
