Last day in Krakow

Hello friends, Unfortunately we have reached the last day of this beautiful trip to Krakow, a place that I liked very much and it was a pleasant discovery, I tell the truth at the beginning I was a little doubtful of this place instead it is very rich in history and art, but also Poland in general so I will definitely make some other trip to some other place in Poland, soon, also because the flights from Italy are really cheap, but on the last day I basically went to the Collegium Maius one of the most important and oldest universities in all of Eastern Europe, I could not visit let's say the Copernicus rooms because the museum is practically closed, But here even if Pope John Paul II graduated, and I saw the show of the clock that takes place every odd hour.

then I went to see the basilica of Santa Maria, because in reality you can see it from a distance without paying but I paid something because it is right to support these great works of art, in fact it was also recently restored and also because I wanted to see up close this beautiful tabernacle that opens every day a little before midday, truly beautiful truly unique I must say that I was impressed by this church, and among other things this tabernacle has a very sad history because it was practically stolen by the Nazis but fortunately, the great Polish patriotism managed to bring it back to its place.

I also visited the rynek glowny, there is basically a museum in the main market square, quite interesting and I wanted to visit it. More than anything because I had been told that a great deal of work had been done to enhance it and it was very modern, I must say the truth is that it didn't impress me that much and I was also quite disappointed, I thought it was something nice, let's say it was quite interesting because it tells of all the archaeological excavations that have been done in this square and of all the things that have been found and the research that has been done. Let's say that it is highly recommended for those who love archaeology.

I was also able to visit the church of Santa Barbara, which is the church located near the basilica of Santa Maria. It is a little smaller, probably many people haven't even noticed it, but in reality it is quite an interesting church. Among other things, it is very close to the German-speaking people because masses are actually recited in German here, and then there is a beautiful sculpture by an important sculptor. In short, there is always something to see and admire.

In conclusion, I definitely recommend a holiday in Krakow, especially if you are passionate about art and history like me, but I can't wait to get to know other Polish cities because in my opinion Poland has so much history to tell, even if unfortunately it has suffered many invasions that have tried more than you to erase this nation, but in reality I was able to perceive and understand by visiting the places that there is a lot of nationalism in Poland and this is a beautiful thing.
