Monomad : Alexa's Monochromes

avatar

#monomad today features as usual black and white photographs but this time of Alexa, she has just transitioned from a young lady into a mother.
She is a close friend but she moved to another town about three years ago.
So we only see occasionally, this time was one those of rare occasions where she would come into town and give me a call.

She was going to be staying for a few weeks and so we decided to plan this shoot for her.

We rented white cottons and some artificial looking green twines to compensate the composition we had intended to create.

The first is my favorite because of the odd satisfaction it gives me from looking at it.
The calm is so what it is, a calm

These photos were taken by the my Canon EOS5D Mark II camera and a 500

I usually really like your portraits, but I'm missing a bit how you wanted to portrait your model.
Your pretty model, has quite a stern look which for me doesn't match the 'cloudy' white background.
The wrinkles in the sheets and the plants also work a bit distracting.
A solid dark background maybe had worked better.
I'm no portrait photographer at all, so I couldn't have done it better, but just wanted to share my opinion.

I agree with you that the 1st shot is the best shot.

thank you very much @friendlymoose.

She isn't really a model

I'll put into consideration these things to make my shoot better next time.
