Monomad : Blockbuster

avatar

#monomad today features stunning monochrome styled shots of mon ami.
One of the most talented and disciplined persons I know, someone I like to spent time and learn from.

Whilst at the studio practicing this setup for the rim effect on the side of the face. It's a simple setup by the way, two lights.
The AD200 behind me ,Rembrandt style and a small V-flat board(white) as the backdrop but in this case, the V850ii is behind the V-flat and as the trigger fires it bounces off and the light forms the rim on my face from the part where the board doesn't cover the light.

I used my camera EOS Rebel T6i and an X2T flash for Canon, 120cm octabox.

ISO 200, 50mm F1.8 prime lens,F6.3,1/160th of a second and I did some retouching in Photoshop and then finished the editing in Lightroom.

The third frame would have been my favorite shot, this got me yearning for a full frame camera lol... I've got a crop sensor though

I learnt my lesson though..."shoot in live mode", my trigger allows it.
That's what I said to myself.

The subtle eyes, the care free pose made it look like a blockbuster movie poster... like The Transporter or James Bond though.
I like the shot.
