Financial mistakes to avoid in your 20s.

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Today I'm going to be talking about financial mistakes that youths should avoid in their 20s.

As we all know that everyone is prompt to make mistakes in life and the ability to learn from other's mistakes, makes it a lesson to such people.
So many people in their 20s always lose interest in savings, and most don't see any need to save ahead of some unforeseen circumstances. We would be looking at a few points in this video which include:

Over-dependent on their parents.
Spends more than they earn.
Living in expensive cities, and so on.

We all make those mistakes mentioned above. They are unavoidable. Living in expensive cities can't be avoided since it comes with its advantages as well. Such as better opportunities and the possibility of better livelihood.

Spending in excess is one thing that we can't deny. Even our parents did the same during the 20s and 30s.

Living in the city is not bad, because of the series of opportunities that's there but some people end up using their life savings to rent an apartment and end up borrowing to survive.

True talk. Borrowing to finance a lifestyle is very very bad. A less expensive apartment in a place closer to one's workplace is the best. If not, too much money will be spent on renting an apartment and transport at the same time. It's not easy jare. God will guide us.

You said a lot. And I agree with everything. The only problem is that no matter how much we try to curb our excessive spending habits, there will always be a solid excuse for us to go back to them. It's like a spirit. Money must be spent.

One mistake people mostly make is going into the wrong relationships. Your partner should be able to help instill discipline in terms of unnecessary spending. Unfortunately, a lot of partners would even encourage you to spend even more than you normally would have. And you'd have no choice, all in a bid to please and not to offend them.

That's why it's it very important to chose someone within range of your financial status, so that you people can grow together cos you only take one step at a time. But some youth will not hear base on the fact that the relationship is based on fake Life.

It's easy to talk about excessive spending habits but it's not so easy to practice. Especially with the way things are expensive now. It is only God that can help us not make mistakes in our youthful ages. It shouldn't even be considered a mistake anymore, since it's not easy anywhere. I even feel like depending on parents especially if they're rich will be the best bet at survival o. God abeg. 😂🤣😁

It's a privilege to have parents that you can depend on, just that over dependent on them most time is dangerous because of some unforseen circumstances like death, sickness, lost of jobs .....

You're right. In case of unforeseen circumstances such as the death of parents, there will be almost zero chance of survival. I agree.

We should always try to make good use of any slight opportunity we have and invest in our future.
Because time wait for nobody.
