¡Hola amigos de Hive! 💛🌸

Hello friends of Hive! 💛🌸

In this opportunity I would love to vent a little about something that has marked the way I see life since I was 6 years old, at some point in my life I always mention that I was a ballet dancer for a good few years of my life. Since I was in my mother's womb she used to put me a musical box, then I was born and at carnival time she used to dress me up as a ballerina, eventually when I was about 4 years old she tells me that I discovered a channel where they broadcasted ballet classes and presentations and I loved to watch them, then when my paternal grandmother visited me I danced for her. So since I can remember I have been immersed in the world of show business, my mother and my aunts always taught me to dance so when I turned 5 years old my mother enrolled me in many nationalist dance classes to dance typical dances from here in Venezuela but no academy I liked. My mother had planned to enroll me in ballet when I was 5 years old, but as fate would have it, she became seriously ill and could not take me to the audition that was held at that time.

A year passed after my mother's illness and I was already 6 years old, she recovered and was able to take me to a kind of audition to which the girls were subjected to opt for enrollment in the classical ballet school "Nena Coronil" Fortunately I was selected among the girls and soon my mother began to buy me my uniform and my things to attend ballet classes every afternoon after leaving school.
I started as a student of "Kinder ballet" which is the first level that every girl had to go through, and for each year you passed they gave you your recognition, it was basically the same as studying in school since you graduated and each year was a new level. So I finished "Pre-ballet" "Preparatory" "1st grade, 2nd grade and I reached 3rd grade" which is the year in which you start dancing on pointe, I still have mine. Obviously all the previous years prepare you to be able to dance en puntas, which is not easy at all.
From the first level my parents had to pay for my costumes, my shoes, my uniform. But unfortunately since 2013 in my country Venezuela there was a very strong economic problem and thanks to that little by little the money was only enough to eat, even so my parents did everything possible to give me what I needed for ballet.
I was barely 12 years old when I started to see initial classes of pointe shoes and as I mentioned it was difficult to get a good brand ballet shoes like "Capezio" or "Gainor" and these were expensive, so my father opted to buy me some manufactured here in Venezuela that had to be ordered from another state.

At the age of 12 I was just starting my studies in high school or "Liceo" as it is known in Venezuela, so it was something much stronger since I had 12 subjects of classes and that took me a lot of time to study.
It should be noted that ballet is the discipline that I have loved the most in my life and I consider myself a very responsible and disciplined person thanks to this. It is also worth mentioning that since I can remember I was always an outstanding ballet student and when I had to dance with the advanced group I was always chosen and the director of the ballet school always told me that I was a very good dancer. I participated in many dances as a soloist at my young age and also with other girls of higher levels. As my parents didn't have the money to buy me good brand shoes and even if they had the economic means here in Venezuela they were not available, I began to notice strange treatment from a teacher, then when I began to feel pressured by the school classes, the shouting of my teacher and always hearing "that my shoes were not of good quality" I feel so small this caused my place of peace to become something that I was moving away from little by little.

IMG_20221104_230027.jpgIt was a dream for me to have my first ballet shoes and I still have them.

I do not blame anyone for the decision I made, but the truth is that I had many reasons to stop doing what I loved to do the most, I was just a 12 year old girl and although after 6 years of preparation I could never dance a ballet piece in pointe shoes on stage, it is something that always makes me sad and at the same time happy, because I know that the passion I have for ballet has never left and even less now that I am 19 years old and I see everything I let go. I let go of what I was passionate about, what I loved the most and I still love ballet with all my strength. I believe that all things must happen for a reason and I thank life for showing me and allowing me that this art was an important part of my life and although I regret every day of my life that I couldn't continue, I know that that 12 year old version of me couldn't handle everything I was enduring. My favorite ballet pieces (I have several) are The Nutcracker, The Emerald, Don Quixote, Cinderella, Swan Lake, Pharaoh's Daughter.
I tried to return to ballet when I was 14 years old, but unfortunately I got sick and could not continue. And I had to accept that maybe in another life I will be that ballerina I wanted so much. I advise you not to let go of your dreams, I would still love to continue in ballet, that's a fact. Pursue your dreams no matter what and more so if you love that dream as much as I do. There is not a day that goes by that I remember that ballet gave me the best experience of my life and the best days of my life 💗

¡Saludos!
