My Actifit Report Card: February 5 2020

Quite a busy day keeping up with new orders, dealing with enquiries and of course roasting new coffee stocks.

After hours I continued stripping down the shrink machine which I inherited with the premises. It had a fair 7 day run on eBay but given it was built in 1980, I had no idea if it worked or if it could work and it was big and heavy shipping it would have cost a fortune nobody was interested. Plan B was to strip it down so the base chassis was light enough to fit in the works van and then all the metal bits could go to the scrap metal merchants.

Fortunately most of it was bolted together so it was easy to unbolt most parts if a bit tedious. But there was a complicated heavy table with integrated rolling band that had numerous lever attachments so it would raise flat when a lever like a car hand brake was pulled. Getting that mechanism out was a ton of work, I had to angle grind a 3cm bar to do it that the grind blade caught on kicking the grinder way too close to my face for comfort and wrecking the grind disc. Eventually after tipping the whole thing in various directions and crushing my hands a few times as heavy components slipped together I manage to free the heavy table from the chassis. So it is now in enough pieces to throw in the van and take to the scrap metal merchant - it won’t be worth much but I need the space so I’m happy to clear this big hunk of metal out of the way.

You seem to be quite busy lately hope it's all going well for you , i must admit i have been running around a lot myself lately and can't seem to catch up just not enough hours in the day...lol 👍
