Unemployment: A Global Or Man Made Challenge

Unemployment -

Hello #qccommunity, happy new week. I trust you are doing well. Welcome to my blog. Unemployment may be defined as a situation where people who are willing and able to work are unable to find jobs that suit them.

Paraverse2024

Unemployment is a global challenge; however, the rate of unemployment differs depending on a country's prevailing economic situation.
Some causes of unemployment include an increase in population, a mismatch between skills and available jobs, poor basic amenities and infrastructure, shutdown of companies, lack of financial support from the government, and wrong investment plans.

I remember an investment that went wrong in my previous workplace. The business owner came up with an idea for diversifying into a new product. However, he was advised against it and asked to upgrade the machines he was using in his factory. He ignored his team's feedback and moved forward without a feasibility study.

Unfortunately, the business was launched, workers were employed, trained, and operations began, only for the company to shut down because a lot of things went wrong. Those workers were thrown into the labour market, which also increased unemployment. When unemployment persists, it leads to idleness, which can result in an increase in crime and negative living conditions. Little wonder it is said, "An idle man is the devil's workshop".

However, to reduce unemployment, the government and citizens have to work together. While the government provides a good environment and financial support for businesses to succeed, citizens should acquire the necessary skills to enable companies to get the required competencies for the different openings. Again, vocational and skills-acquisition centres should be established where people can gain practical skills that will empower them to succeed on their own.

Furthermore, the government should support start-ups with basic infrastructure such as an enabling business environment, reliable power supply, grants, and access to soft loans.

Finally, increasing the number of start-up businesses will not only reduce unemployment, but it will also create more business opportunities for the citizens through vendor and supplier relationships, outsourcing skills, and exporting expertise.

In the end, the outcome will be a society where individuals graduate without fear of what the future holds because all hands are on deck to form a common front against unemployment for the betterment of the masses.

There should be a good balance !INDEED between "too idle" and "too busy". 🤔🧘‍♂️ There is the paradox "doing nothing is tiring"! 🧘‍♂️🤯🤓 !WEIRD !MMB !HOPE !STRIDE

True, but you also know that there are people who don't like to do anything yet, they want to get rewarded when others are being rewarded. Can those ones fit into such balance?

Waiting for something (good) to happen before doing something is easily categorized into the "doing nothing" part !INDEED though, so better do something good while waiting for something better to happen! 🤔🧘‍♂️🤯🤓 !HOPE !WEIRD !MMB !STRIDE

That should be the right route to being employed whether self employed or civil aspect of it. I agree.

I find it hard to understand the being employed whether self employed or civil aspect of it phrase on your comment !INDEED. 🤔🤯 Maybe you want to rewrite your comment there. 🤗🤓😅 !HOPE !MMB !BRN !STRIDE

Okay, here we have the civil servant (those who work in government parastatals), and the self-employed (those who work on their own. Not on any firm's payroll. Trust it's clear now. Seems you were very busy in the real life yesterday (let me borrow your words}

Uffff that's a hard lesson to learn. I do get it that sometimes we have an idea and we want to try it, but I still don't understand why some businesses do not pay attention to what their team tells them. At the end of the day, they are the ones who handle day-to-day matters and know what is needed to make improvements.

You are correct. It is good to listen and pay attention to good advice 👌.
Unfortunately, impatience and the desire to make money has misled so many to the wrong path were they end up losing serious funds.
