Two digits old🤔

I was the youngest amongst 14 children from two wives who never saw eye to eye. I couldn't tell if it was because my father had so many children or if it was because he didn't really care about it, but we never celebrated birthdays. What am I even saying, we didn't even know our birthday until We needed it for documentation or something really important. But whatever the situation was or the reason, birthdays weren't really a thing for my family, But this year was different for me.
After so many tantrums And red eyes, i finally got to know my birthday and to put icing on the cake, we were having a party. my first birthday party!!!!!

The whole house was filled with the hustling and bustling of people. There food and drinks EVERYWHERE. my mind and heart was doing backflips over and over again. I couldn't believe it, this was actually happening, I was gonna be the first person to have a birthday party. I was on top of the world that day, I went wherever I was not sent to , even answered when I wasn't called which annoyed my older siblings alot, and when I was actually called I was always nowhere to be found

" Make your body dey Pepe you o" my sister said when she got fed up of my childish antics.
On a normal day I would have bickered with her but today was not a normal day, it was history being made for me.

"Uncle!!!!" I yelled at the top of my excited lungs when my uncle who lived in another city arrived for my party.

"Ah ah, birthday girl, how are you" he said with his usual playful tone.
Then he picked me up and placed me on his shoulder which made me scream both out of fright and excitement. Staying there on my uncle's shoulder made me feel like I was Barbie from princes charm school.

" Uncle where is my birthday gift" I said to him sitting comfortably on his shoulder.
He looked up at me and then dropped me back on the floor to my disappointed which I didn't realise was showing on my face until he pointed it out.

" Why are you sulking" he said

" What is sulking" I asked
He looked like he was thinking for a while, then he answered and said
" Sulking means when your sad"

" But I'm not sad, today that I will eat plenty cake, why will I be sad?"

" Then why did you squeeze your face" he said while making a fake angry face.
I smiled sheepishly at him and held his hand.
" Uncle carry me again"

He laughed a hearty laugh and used his hand to bring out his phone from his pocket.

" I need to record this so that when your older you will believe me when I tell you that you used like being carried"

" Uncle pls now, it's my birthday o"

" You don't know your an old woman now, how old are you today?" He asked

I stared at him like he had suddenly grown two head. Then I replied with an innocent look on my face
" I don't know"

My uncle and everyone around began laughing. I couldn't get the joke but I laughed too.
My mother walked up to me and gave me a smack on my butt
" You're ten years old, you don't even know your age but you want a party".
Everyone began laughing once again but this time I did not join them.
When I raised my head to stare at my uncle there must have been something on my face because the laughter became louder.
" This girl and her sense of humour" my uncle said in between laughs.
I still couldn't get the joke but I smiled anyways, I mean it's not everyday you turn ten.
