“Tú tienes un don o talento por el cual puedes vivir”. Esta es sin duda una frase que muchos de nosotros en alguna ocasión quizás pudimos escuchar de parte de nuestros padres o familiares, amigos o conocidos que han visto en nosotros la capacidad de poder desarrollar alguna habilidad o destreza de forma especial. Tan solo en nuestra infancia ya empezamos a adentrarnos en esa interesante búsqueda que para algunos puede llegar a ser fácil, mientras que para otros probablemente tome un poco más de tiempo para llegar hasta él, pero lo cierto es que sea cual sea la situación, “todos estamos en la capacidad de desarrollar y desplegar nuestros talentos”.

En la vida quizás lo más difícil no sea saber si tenemos algún talento o no, sino más bien que el punto radica en poder identificarlo y mostrarlo a plenitud. Una muestra de ello es la existencia de los conocidos “caza talentos”, quienes tienen como objetivo principal encontrar personas con un rendimiento excepcional en áreas como los deportes, la música, el arte y la literatura, entre muchos otros. Ya con el talento identificado, solo es cuestión de trabajar en ello a fin de sacarle lo mejor para el bienestar y disfrute de quien lo posee.

Con todo lo mencionado, quizás ya podríamos decir que el trabajo está hecho y el éxito es asegurado, pero, ¿Realmente es así? Pues no, y esto es algo que todos debemos tener presente ya que en esta etapa es donde, sea cual sea la habilidad, el don o el talento que se tenga, éstos pueden extinguirse de a poco hasta desaparecer de forma definitiva en nosotros. Son muchas las cosas que pueden atentar contra ellos, y es por eso que debemos esforzarnos por fortalecer y cuidar aquello en los que podemos destacar con total confianza y certeza.

"You have a gift or talent that you can live by". This is undoubtedly a phrase that many of us may have heard at one time or another from our parents or family, friends or acquaintances who have seen in us the ability to develop some special skill or ability. Only in our childhood we already started to get into this interesting search that for some may be easy, while for others it probably takes a little more time to reach it, but the truth is that whatever the situation, "we are all in the ability to develop and deploy our talents".

In life, perhaps the most difficult thing is not to know if we have a talent or not, but rather that the point lies in being able to identify it and show it to the fullest. An example of this is the existence of the well-known "talent scouts", whose main objective is to find people with exceptional performance in areas such as sports, music, art and literature, among many others. Once the talent has been identified, it is only a matter of working on it in order to get the best out of it for the well-being and enjoyment of those who possess it.

With all the above mentioned, perhaps we could already say that the work is done and success is assured, but is it really so? Well, no, and this is something that we should all keep in mind since it is at this stage where, whatever the ability, gift or talent that we have, they can be extinguished little by little until they disappear definitively in us. There are many things that can threaten them, and that is why we must strive to strengthen and take care of what we can highlight with confidence and certainty.

Una de las primeras cosas que podemos hacer para proteger nuestros talentos se basa en el amor propio hacia lo que hacemos, tener la certeza de que coma sin importar los agentes externos, podemos llegar a ser buenos en lo que hacemos. En base a la modestia y el equilibrio, nos esforzamos por dar el máximo en lo que creemos que podemos aportar y ser realmente útiles, sin avivar envidia ni competitividad por otros y haciendo frente a cualquier aire de desánimo o crítica que se pueda levantar en contra nuestra. “No existe mayor muestra de aprecio como las palabras que dan encomio”, y esto es algo que no solo nos ayuda a crecer en cuanto a nuestros talentos sino también en lo personal.

Y es que hablar del encomio es también muy importante, porque este llega a ser como ese plus que necesitas para impulsarte y creer de lo que eres capaz. Como experiencia, recuerdo que siendo aún muy adolescente desarrollé una habilidad natural hacia un deporte, pero al no sentir el apoyo de alguien más simplemente no me atreví a luchar por desarrollarlo aún más. Dejé de avivar esa habilidad que en mí había y, por lo tanto, todo se desvaneció a través del tiempo. “El peor paso es el que no se da”, y pienso que en este caso nunca me di la oportunidad de saber hasta dónde podía llegar con dicha habilidad.

Pero si algo te da la vida son precisamente nuevas oportunidades, nuevos caminos que te llevan a encontrarte con cierto talento que llevas contigo, y al que no le dabas la atención debida. Desde joven también he tenido una facilidad para escribir poesía e historias ficticias, pero después de mucho tiempo fue que pude darme cuenta que este es un talento del cual disfruto mucho. He escrito versos y poesías, sonetos, historias y reflexiones que ni yo mismo pensé que podría hacer, pero que gracias al apoyo de mis seres queridos, escritores y creadores de contenido, me he sentido impulsado no solo a fortalecer sino también a crecer en esta interesante faceta.

One of the first things we can do to protect our talents is based on self-love towards what we do, having the certainty that no matter what external agents, we can become good at what we do. Based on modesty and balance, we strive to do our best in what we believe we can contribute and be truly useful, without stoking envy or competitiveness for others and facing any air of discouragement or criticism that may be raised against us. "There is no greater token of appreciation than words of praise," and this is something that not only helps us to grow in terms of our talents but also personally.

And talking about praise is also very important, because it becomes like that plus that you need to push yourself and believe in what you are capable of. As an experience, I remember that when I was still a teenager I developed a natural ability for a sport, but not feeling the support of someone else I simply did not dare to fight to develop it even more. I stopped stoking that ability in me and, therefore, it all faded over time. "The worst step is the one you don't take", and I think in this case I never gave myself the chance to know how far I could go with that ability.

But if life gives you something, it is precisely new opportunities, new paths that lead you to find yourself with a certain talent that you carry with you, and to which you did not give due attention. Since I was young I have also had a facility for writing poetry and fictional stories, but after a long time I realized that this is a talent that I enjoy very much. I have written verses and poems, sonnets, stories and reflections that even I did not think I could do, but thanks to the support of my loved ones, writers and content creators, I have felt encouraged not only to strengthen but also to grow in this interesting facet.

Aún así, debo admitir que muchos son los desaires y las críticas que pueden soplar en tu contra, y en mi caso no ha sido la excepción. A diferencia de lo que me pasó cuando tan solo era un niño, hoy no he dejado de alimentar y fortalecer esa habilidad para poder crear contenido. Quizás no haya sido tan constante en la plataforma como lo fui al principio, pero lo cierto es que no he dejado de crear y escribir fascinantes historias que solo he guardado para mí.

Hace poco pensaba en lo que sería para mí una gran satisfacción como escritor, y llegué a la conclusión de que escribir un libro sería el premio a mi felicidad, y así lo ha sido, pues he llegado a escribir un libro que para mí es como un regalo hecho realidad. Es una pieza literaria que, aunque aún no lo he publicado, ya es el tesoro más grande que puedo tener. Y es aquí donde reflexiono en la idea de nunca dejar de avivar las brasas de ese talento que todos llevamos dentro.

En síntesis, puedo decir que para todos hay un don y también un espacio en el cual podemos demostrar lo bueno que somos y queremos compartir con los demás. No se trata de competir, se trata de vivir y disfrutar de lo nuestro y de todo lo que nos rodea, creciendo en conjunto con total armonía y felicidad. Ciertamente muchos serán los vientos tempestuosos que soplarán contra ti, y habrá situaciones que querrán apagar la llama de tus talentos, pero lo cierto es que cuando estás convencido de tus habilidades y tus destrezas, no habrá nada ni nadie que te impida avivar la fuente de tus brasas.

Even so, I must admit that many are the rebuffs and criticisms that can blow against you, and in my case it has not been the exception. Unlike what happened to me when I was just a kid, today I have not stopped nurturing and strengthening that ability to create content. Maybe I have not been as constant on the platform as I was at the beginning, but the truth is that I have not stopped creating and writing fascinating stories that I have only kept for myself.

Recently I was thinking about what would be for me a great satisfaction as a writer, and I came to the conclusion that writing a book would be the prize to my happiness, and so it has been, because I have come to write a book that for me is like a gift come true. It is a literary piece that, although I have not yet published it, is already the greatest treasure I can have. And it is here where I reflect on the idea of never ceasing to fan the embers of that talent that we all carry inside.

In short, I can say that for everyone there is a gift and also a space in which we can show how good we are and want to share with others. It is not about competing, it is about living and enjoying what is ours and all that surrounds us, growing together in total harmony and happiness. Certainly there will be many stormy winds that will blow against you, and there will be situations that will want to extinguish the flame of your talents, but the truth is that when you are convinced of your abilities and your skills, there will be nothing and no one that will prevent you from fanning the source of your embers.
